Calling all 5 axis gurus. Can somebody explain dynamic compensation to me? Is that what makes the difference between a true 5 axis machine and say maybe a 3 + 2 axis? I have been told that some machines require you to repost each time you probe a part, we run 2 shifts here and sometimes need to take our parts out for 2nd shift. We have Hermles now, but I have never really heard of this. Thanks.

Pete, I do see where the drawing.prm file in the C:mcamxcommonprm dir was changed about 10 days ago. That is about when I am told the problem started. Could this be it?

Everything is the same on all 5. This has worked fine since X came out and all the way back to V8. Now all of a sudden we can't convert anything not even an iges file.

Just an add on, it seems I can't convert anything. Any suggestions, my hands are tied by IT so reinstalling is going to be a project. Thanks again.

Morning all. I was wondering if anybody out there has ever had a problem with their ProE converter. We have 5 identical stations running X MR2/SP2, now one of our stations can't bring in a ProE file. All we get is a blank screen and file shows no entities. All the other stations work fine. I'm stumped any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Try to save the point data as a text file, then open it under all files in Mastercam. Then you can use the point data to create your geometry for the custom tool.

Chris, I know it's got to be really hard for you to think about it, but you can get up every day. You seem to be seeing improvements as well as your doctors. You still get to be with your family, it could have been much worse for you and for them. Try, as hard as it may be to keep focus on the positives. Though I don't post much, you get a feel for what kind of person everybody actually is by reading their posts. We have had the same problem here, started using the backup feature and now we can at least go back to the last save. I strongly recommend this, we have 12 guys across 4 stations so many times multiple Mcams are open. This has saved a lot of work.

It all depends on the file, I will separate the solid, surfaces and geometry to different levels. Points for holes on another etc., I think that everyone here will do this type of thing a little different depending on comfort level.

Net hasp is run in other areas of the company, X2 will be implemented company wide when IT gets the time and sets a plan.

Our company is looking into going from 5 individual seat licenses to a net hasp license of 6 seats across 9 work stations. Has anybody experienced issues with a net hasp? Problems going from individual licenses to a net hasp? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. We are running XMR2 on maintenance but no upgrade to X2 in the forseable future due to IT concerns. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have to agree verify is definitly one place for improvement. It does not seem to have grown at the same rate as Mastercam IMHO.

We program and run all our own jobs here. Wire and mill, 3,4 and 5 axis.

Welcome to the forum Terra! Look in your post for "Omit sequence no.?". It should say "no", change it to yes and that should do it.

Would'nt that be an empty one?
