  1. and the "all" button gives you alot of options for selection preference
  2. Hey SCott have you tried toggling the 3d option to 2d before you select your geo? it is located at center screen bottom left, that usually does the trick for me
  3. hey hardmill, the funny thing is, the solid model seems to be more problematic, as far as creating fillets go..weird
  4. hey guys thanks for the help, i opened the file you sent Hardmill and i can duplicate that also, but i cannot achieve a larger fillet than what you got also, and on top of that, it does not trim up completly. I split the parts and i was able to put in a larger fillet but it would only work on one side. Anyways, i have gotten the boss to back down and we will let the Fab shop just sand it into the mold..nice! Thanks again for your help guys.
  5. Thanks MIllman, i will try that.
  6. Hey Guys, i have uploaded a file to the FTP called "Tube loft" and i am needing some help. when you get the file open you will see two distinct lofted features and i am trying to blend the two. The radius is not important but the bigger the better, it is for air flow. I have tried this in solidworks, Rhino, and mastercam, but i cant seem to get anything that looks nice or consistant, so i would appriciate it if anybody else could lend their expertise. i can fillet maybe one side but then the other side wont do it, so i am at a loss. Thanks for the help.
  7. HI guys, i have searched for this and i couldnt find another thread, so forgive my ignorance if i somehow missed it but i have a problem putting a file in the ftp using both internet explorer and firefox. i am needing help trying to fillet something and i thought the file itself would speak volumes as opposed to trying to discribe it but i cant seem to put the file on the ftp. In firefox it will only let me save the file to my desktop as if i was trying to download it not upload it, and in IE it keeps asking me for my password even though i have already put it in. thanks in advance for the help.
  8. Hey greg, i watched that video, and that is very impressive, and maybe he saw the same thing hence his reasoning for wanting to do it that way? none the less, i think that was what he was looking for, thanks!
  9. hey guys, thanks for the help and the opinions, i agree whole heartedly with the optimal way to do the part on a lathe, but the boss is the boss and i am but a wheel in the cog. thanks again for the help!
  10. Hey trevor, in case your still there, are you using the machsim from the C-hooks or are you using a full third party simulator? i cant find the version you are using on the FTP unless it is a paid version. i emailed my dealer, so thanks for the info.
  11. thanks matt, that sounds like a good idea
  12. Hey Trevor, that was what i was talking about, thanks a bunch for the help guys. On a a side note trevor, where did you get the trunnion machine for the Machsim? I have never been able to get that to work. Could i just save your trunnion as a machine of my own? Thanks again
  13. Hey Mayday, the roldie chook, i am not familiar with that, i have it in my C-hooks, but could you shed some light on this command? Thanks
  14. Hey guys, thanks for all of the help. I can and would prefer the surface option, but the boss is insisting that he wants it to spin like a lathe so it doesnt take as long. That was why i was asking if it could even be done. I can do the part easily enough using conventional surfacing toolpaths, but he thinks the trunnion table can spin like a lathe..
  15. Hey Trevor, thanks for the response, but my next question is how do i get the trunnion table to spin the part in a continuous 360? Or am i just not getting it..
  16. HI guys, did your boss ever ask you to do something that you were not even sure was possible? (nothing dirty..haha) LOL. Ok, imagine this, i have something like a nose-cone on an airplane and my boss wants me to center it on our 5 axis Haas Trunnion and spin it like its on a lathe and turn some material off of it with a ballmill. (the head on the haas is not 5 axis, it is the trunnion itself that rotates and turns)...did that make any sense? Is this possible? I guess you could also imagine a clay pot spinning wheel like in that movie Ghost..that was his example not mine.. thanks in advance!
  17. hey rickster, i get what you are saying, thanks for the help.
  18. Hey guys, thanks for the help, yes i can imagine the surface go in all different directions, that was what i was getting to. I am trying to make a form block so i need to "extend the edges of the surfaces" for a larger peice of material. I can upload the part rickster to see if that might help you, thanks again. give me a sec to upload the new file
  19. Hey Rickster, no i am on X4, no update (not on maintinance) It would help me immensely if you could do it.
  20. Hey Guys, i am having a heck of a time trying to untrim this surface, basically i need to make a form block to create this shape but the surfaces given to me are all messed up. I uploaded the file to the X4 directory and it is called "GASKET.MCX". I would appriciate any help i could get on this one. For myself, i have tried untrim surfaces but they go in all different directions. I have tried making it a solid and extending it, but that didnt work either. Again, any help would be much appriciated. Thanks
  21. Hey pat, i dont have that C-Hook, where did you get it? I am using Mcam X4. Thanks.
