We have a Charmilles Robofil 440. The code from the top of the posted file looks like this.
N100 G90
N110 G11 (WIR,LS25)
N120 G11 (TEC,NNN)
N130 M15 P0
N140 S101
The code in parenthesis cannot have spaces. The only thing that changes is the code where the NNN's are. This will be input by the programmer. Currently I have this set in the post to output from the comment box. The programmer types in "(TEC,5MM)" for example. What I would like is to hard code the (TEC, ) so the programmer doesn't have to type this on every program. They would only have to input 5MM in the comment box.
When I modified the post to do that:
This is the section from the post
gcode$ = 1008
n$, "G11", "(TEC,", comment$, e$
This is the output:
(TEC, 5MM )
The Charmilles control doesn't like the spaces.
How can I achieve this without the spaces? Or any other ways to do this with the least input required for each program.
Thanks
Our shop has been using Mastercam for about 2 1/2
years. We are switching over from another CAM system, so all user in the shop have not switched over yet. We are now at a place where everyone will start using the new software.
We have been looking at options for training. There is training available from our reseller which will be what we start with.
So my question is about programs like StreamingTeacher, Training Video's through mastercamu.com, etc.
Would like feedback on these and other programs out there for training aids after the initial reseller training.
Thanks
Another Model Maker and I spent a week at Cimtech for training in August. Rich Greer was the trainer.
We also attended the Tech Expo. Well worth the time invested.
gcode,
I wasn't aware of all the shortcut keys inside functions. I thought just the menu's had them and didn't look.
Thanks for the pointing that out.
Colin,
This has been a question I've had since we began to switch cam systems over to Mastercam X. Thought I would ask here to get an answer.
Thanks for the help
gcode,
The power keys on the autorcusor I am using.
Holding the shift key to select a chain I haven't
used. Thanks for the tip.
But what I wanted to find out is if you can set the system to default so you don't have to press the alt key to use the hot keys on the main menu selections. ex: press x then t to xform, translate. Now you have to press alt then x then t to xform translate. The extra key press is not a big deal, just asking.
To use the hot keys for the Menu selections, you first have to press the alt key. Is it possible to set the default so the hot keys are always showing so that I don't have to press the alt key everytime?
Thanks
We are using X3. We recently tried unsuccessfully
to open large .sat files. One was 7300 kb's, the other 13000 kb's. It gives an error message "out of memory", then Mastercam shuts down. It is not
often we get files that large, so we have just sectioned out the area we need to work on in our cad software.
Per our reseller I have tried adusting the memory
buffer in the configuration file under toolpath. It was at 50%. I tried 75 and 100%. Got the same results. Any ideas on what to do to be able to bring these files into Mastercam?
Thanks
Relative is located on the AutoCursor ribbon bar
just under the menu's at the top of the screen.
Look just to the right of the gray exclamation point, there is a drop down list. You need to select it from this list. The autocursor ribbon bar becomes active when you select one of the geometry creation functions.
I have been a member of this forum for awhile, just haven't posted here since we have only had V7 until this year. Also I have been using mastercam since V5. Currently only 2 of us in the shop are using mastercam x. The others will soon be switching from another cam system.
I am having a problem with the tab function. When I set the c/t plane, the toolpath does not leave the tabs when using the square points. If I manually set the tab postitions, it works ok. If I use the standard top plane it works. I have tried it in MR1, MR2 and also on another computer, getting the same results.
I have searched the forum but didn't see a solution.
Thanks in advance.
