Hi,
I had it crash again projecting lines. 1 session of Mastercam open, projecting 2 lines on to 172 surfaces.
I had just opened the file from our network server, tried to project the 2 lines and it crashed, and I sent a report to microsoft.

Hi,
We are looking at getting new computers, and after checking prices, just wondering what people are using or recomending. Is the price worth buying a workstaion? What is the difference between the two?
We do a lot of surfacing and shading.
Thanks,
Jim
Of the 2 of us here, I have the most crashes. The other user has it happen once in a while, 1-3 times a week. It might be doing it if I have 2 windows open, will watch for that, to see if there is a pattern.
Hi,
MR2 crashes on us when we are projecting curves onto surfaces. Happens 2-3 times a day. Any ideas or is this another bug Mastercam needs to work out?
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Matt,
That was the problem, I had hidden lines active when I created the dimensions and notes. So I changed the notes to solid lines and it works fine.
Thanks,
Jim
I am trying to make a print and the dimensions are printing out fine, but the notes look like the printer is low on ink. It even shows this in print preview.
I made a new file with the same words for the note and it works fine. I merge the old note with the new one and the new one looks clean and the old one still looks blotchy. Even in the print preview you can see the difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim
version X
We are having the same problem. Arcs and lines offset good and are the right color. When I offset a spline it looks like it does not work, and if I read in the file again it tells me I have entities in the screen background color.
Why do lines and arcs work fine but splines do not with the same settings?
Thanks,
Jim

screen >> regenerate display list is working on the rotating and translating, but i need to do the regenerate display after every move or rotate.
I have had this problem 2 times before. This file is an iges file from Catia v4. Is this a problem with Mastercam X? I have never had issues with previous versions, and I work with imported geometry from many systems on a daily basis.
I need to rotate the part to compare with another part. For some reason their designer did not leave them in the same position.
Thanks for the help.
Hi,
I am trying to rotate a part, and when I do some of the entities do not rotate. I can not analyze these entities, and if i delete all entities, these entities that do not rotate are still there. Also screen statistics says "current Mastercam file has no entities" even though I can see them there. Mastercam X has also crashed 3 times trying to figure this out. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim
Is there any way to turn this off? The older versions had an option to turn it off, plus this will come up even if the file has not been changed.
Thanks.
I checked the debug box under nc output in the machine definaition manager and my nc file still has no debug info. I also changed it in the post to no and still no info. Any suggestions?
I just updated our version 9 Okuma post to version X, and everything looks good except I get 2 n#'s on the same line(see N260)
This is a pocket toolpath, and it does this after the tool is raised above the part and going to a new X,Y location.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim

Is there a way in version X to change the color pallete to match the older versions? We always used v7colors.dll c-hook to change it. But this does not work in X.
