Thanks but they all start like it's Inconel and that isn't even close that's why I was looking for someone that had some experience with it.

Great thanks for the help I have only one more thing what condition do you normally machine this material in.
-
Great what size radius for roughing and what size for finishing?
-
Thanks for the quick response but this part is all turning and we are currently doing a test cut and not doing very well with it.
-
Anybody work with this and what is the best inserts and cutting conditions that you could suggest.

I've requested the download for 2018 twice and still haven't been sent an email to download?

Thanks I will when we start cutting!

Is their a reason not to Machine Age Harden Monel K500 material compared to Machining in the annealed state like the material suppliers recommend then you semi finish it age harden then finish machine?
-
Well we just got the orders and now I'm being ask if we should machine in an annealed state or age harden condition?
-
Thanks

Thanks guys for the input I'll see how it goes it would be nice to have the feature built into the software instead of creating it all the time.

JParis,
I have tried that but when you have the Model or the stock display on it doesn't matter what color you make it. I guess I'm looking for maybe a way the just show an origin symbol with out the system origin on but not sure how to go about having that accessible on each job I program.
-
What do you guys do when you want to show on a tool setup sheet the new origin of the operation for the setup person without always showing the system origin?

Very happy with Sumitomo

I'm tying pocket toolpaths @ 50% depth of cut this seems to be faster than the dynamic toolpaths then I always ramp mill to finish the walls but never more than .025 on the depth. I'm going to run this in a Robo-Drill with 24k.

Types of technics you guys use for milling deep cavities in Alum,
Largest cutter 1/4 going 1.5 deep
3/16 going 1.750 deep
smallest 1/8 going .900 deep
Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks looks like the condition is going to be key and the edge prep because it drilled like butter so that tells me sharp edge and small radius. My guys at our other shop are playing around with this because i'm a little busy but it does take experience with cutting conditions tool pressure the right insert angle a lot of factors go into being successful with this one but I know it can be done.
Thanks for all the help guys
Mayday thanks for the advise.
