  1. Hmmm, never thought about doing that. Thanks for that there Stephen. Oh yeah, guess what ya'll. I looked at the problem and someone in class mentioned maybe I should double my measurements. So I did and it still came out wrong. So I only doubled my x measurments and it got from the bottom right hand corner to the top center. Which is good. My teacher then mentioned that the measurement in the computer is inches...and the measurement on my graph was a 10th of an inch. That's small! So I drew my J bigger and rewrote my code. It came out a bit bigger...so that is good. I got the J coming out...and I even got it to pause at the beginning....But now. The spindle wont even start! My teacher said he'll look into it. So he's looking at my coding and the book (which has some of the code defintions in it) to see what the problem is. Ya'll have been a help and I thank ye.
  2. The program I'm using allows me to verfiy the work that is about to be done to the wood. When I look at the results of it, the J is small. I haven't milled it yet. The program I'm using is not your normal Cad program, it's like CAD, but you write the code into the computer. You first do a scale drawing and then you find the measurements and then write the code. After that you input the code into the computer. You can either run it, or verfiy your coding. I verfied it and the 'J' came out small. It was a capital J, but the size of it was just small. That is what my problem is.
  3. I did, I drew it on a graph and then wrote the code for it. Here's the code if it might be needed. N05 G04F15 N06 M26 N07 G90 X 0.2 Y 1.6 Z -0.2 N08 X 0.9 Y 1.6 N09 X 1.6 Y 1.4 N10 X 0.7 Y 1.4 N11 X 0.7 Y 0.7 N12 X 0.1 Y 0.7 N13 X 0.1 Y 1.1 N14 X 0.3 Y 1.1 N15 X 0.3 Y 0.9 N16 X 0.5 Y 0.9 N17 X 0.5 Y 1.4 N18 X 0.2 Y 1.4 N19 X 0.2 Y 1.6 Haven't tried this code out yet. I made the letter bigger so I hope it works better.
  4. I'm having some problems with some coding. I think I did it right. (This is my first time to write codes for a mill) It just that the letter 'J' (that's what I'm milling) comes out small. Could I have to code wrong?
  5. Thanks alot, but my teacher gave up on it and told us to do something else. >> I hate giving up, but I'm getting out of it today, so it's not my problem any more and really do appreciate all the help ya'll gave me. It helped out alot. Thanks.
  6. Ok Tony I will try and get the information, tommorrow at school. And we are using a new program then what we used to use. We used MasterCam, but with MSDOS instead of Techno GCode. We have been able to emboss/chisel and make name plates. We have made the Toyota emblem with it. This new project we are trying to make is on an uneven surface. But that is about all I know. And oh yes, we have been using the same mastercam program and the machine is the same. We are now trying projects with Techno GCODE. But as I said, I will get back on tomorrow at school and have my teacher there with me, answering these questions. And the name is Ann.
  7. The error message appeared on Techno GCODE Interface. Is that what you are asking?
  8. hey I got to school and changed the file. Thanks for the instructions James, but now there is a new problem. I was going to run it and an error appeared. This is what it said: Run-time '9': Subscript out of range Can someone tell me what this means? I asked my instructor, but he was unable to tell me. Please and thank you.
  9. Thanks, when i get to school tomorrow I'll give it a shot and post if it worked. I'll post while at school. But thanks again.
  10. i am using Mastercam v8 and i am using Techno GCODE Interface v2.46 to mill. I am having a problem with both and i was wondering if there is a way to convert a NC file into an NCD file, for that is what Techno uses. Can ya PLEASE help me? (i need to know for school, it's for a project that is a grade)
