Hi
i want to rough a pocket using 3d area roughing ; i dont know how to limit working to the stock not all the boundary
please have a look at the mastercam file . there is a huge waste of time , how can i solve that to make the toolpath recognize the stok .
should i change the strategy?

I DONT KNOW HOW TO TURN ON G112 ;PLEASE IF YOU DONT MIND TRY TO APPLY THIS IN THE MASTERCAM FILE

You will need to turn on G112 Polar Coordinate Interpolation for this.
try to fix that in the mastercam file , i dont know how to turn on G112

thanx for your help
i will share the part ,and try to look to the g code and see how linear toolpath became splines or arcs
-
thanx for your help
please have a look at the g code , and see what i get .
it is a linear contour but i dont get a linear toolpath
how can i fix that ?

This can also happen if your stepover - min. radius ratio is wrong. Rule of thumb is min. radius should be at least 2x stepover
WHERE I CAN ADJUST THAT

Sounds like your machine def is incorrect for the machine you're using, it needs to be configured to match your machine as well as your post.
i am using c axis lathe , i dont know how it can outpout linear toolpath with G1
-
hi
i am using the 2d high speed mill .the problem is when i see the tool path the toolpath is correct , but when outputting the G code the toolpath is not corret there is no linear toolpath it makes circle and domage the part

Your pocket geometry should be at the bottom of the pocket.....define the island geometry at the depth that is the top of the island
where i can define the depth of the top of island, i dont find the function ,

or......
If you have a solid, use a Dynamic Opti-Rough
sorry i cant , thanx for your help , all i need to know is how to make island facing in 2D dynamic mill
in the pdf i shared , this can be done like pocket island facing
but i dont know how to select geometry so it can do the island facing
please help

Can you share your file
look at this document , we can do island facing with 2D high speed, i dont know how to define the geometrie,

HI
i want to cut in 2d dynamic high speed , i have an island in the pocket .How can I define the island geometrie
please how can i do selection of geometrie to define the island
-
sorry , but i have posted may mastercam for solidworks file
mY question is what is the best tool path to cut a piece from a large stock in order to machine it with the right dimension later .
i used countour ramp but the tool is always engaged and steel down , i can't do retract after each depth
-
HI
i want to cut a piece from a stock and then machine it to the exact dimension.
which is the best toolpath to do it ?
which toolpath allows to ramp or helix around the piece without plunging directly into the material
i used to use countour ramp but i think it is not efficient, it plunges vertically to the material

I believe the standalone version has MUCH more CAM power than does the MC4SW which does have a place otherwise
i used to work with solidworks , geometry creation with mastercam is difficult , and when exporting solid bodies it is difficult to offset surfaces extend contour .....
thats why mastyercam forsolidworks seems easier for me .

Just like in Stand alone Mastercam your WCS for all operation must stay the same and the T=Plane and C-plane must change to get rotations. You have 2 different WCS and I would expect to see A0 at each.
Also you need to select C-plane and T-Plane Slot 2 for the 2nd operation.
FYI caps is considering rude and yelling.
THANK YOU
every thing is clear
just one more question ;what is the difference between mastercam and mastercam for solidworks ,and wich one is greater
thanks every body

Did you set planes with the rotations? Can you share your file? you will still have to set planes to get rotation. You don't have to set planes when translating because it does that in the translation. if you do not want to use translate you will need to set planes for rotation.
THANKS
I SET MY PLANES WITH PLANE MANAGER AS I USED TO DO WITH MASTRECAM
THINGS ARE DIFFERENTS WITH MASTERCAM FOR SOLIDWORKS
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK TO THE ATTACHED FILE

in your plan manager select your plan and change the offset to different value
WHEN I DO SO I GET G54 AND G55 NOT A ROTATION OF A AXIS

hi manel
be sure you make offset for each origin .
how can i do that . i set the same wcs for each plane and change only the tool plane ,

Hi Manel, How are your Planes set for those toolpaths? The reason I ask is Planes set incorrectly is probably the leading cause to issues of this nature in my opinion. If you have a sample file I would be willing to take a quick look if you wanted to upload a sample of your file with your toolpaths applied, or if its a confidential part I am sure your local re-seller would be happy to help as well but take a look at your planes first, If the WCS / CPlane / Tplane all match then that would explain why you are not seeing the rotary moves in the code.
thanks you
i have done the toolpath in mastercam for solidworks 2017
when generating the g code i should have A90 but there is not rotation of a axis
please help
