Haven't read through this entire post, sorry if it's been covered, but found another little goodie that makes life easier for people with hundreds of levels... If you have a few levels visible in the Levels manager and click Hide All Levels, it does. If you click it again it shows the levels that were showing before you clicked Hide All Levels.
How about that!

@Chally72 Attached a sample file. Expand the group, right click or select a viewsheet and delete it without removing it from the group first.

Evening everybody
We use the hell out of view sheets, and the grouping function they added in 2023 keeps things a lot cleaner and quicker to access. However, if you delete a viewsheet without ungrouping it first you will hose the mastercam database and nothing can be saved at that point (hope you make back ups!).
This looks like it was fixed in the 2024 beta.

Thank you, been running 2020 without this and man did I miss it.

What is the reason for doing it from the tool manager?

Pioneer MX-8 extensions come in lengths up in 6,8 and 10", are .75 dia and you can get 8mm collets.

Is this more what you are looking for? I don't have any experience with feed mills so I can't really say if it's better than a straight contour.

It just saves a click or 2 and helps keep you from accidentally hitting regen all
not that I've ever done that

Very nice!

That certainly works, I was hoping I could chain from the solid and control everything else with parameters.
Thanks everyone

JParis - We don't have 2019 yet, could you put that back up in 2018?

turn the rapid down to 5% at the machine, as most operators do anyway
true true true

I am cutting in a bunch of fins using a lot of step downs, example file above just to show tool path.

The negative retract does keep the tool from lifting on the return for the next depth cut but not the chain to chain passes.
-
That would be possible but I was hoping it could be done through a parameter or switch.

Hello, I have a contour operation that is made of several chains and is using the "by depth" option for depth cuts. Is there anyway to create feed moves instead of rapid as goes from chain to chain? Getting rid of the short vertical moves between chains would be a plus. Would rather not draw the tool path or change the machine definition to eliminate all rapid moves. Thanks

Please do not replace radio buttons with a combobox (another bad UI design decision)

Honestly I almost never change these settings and it looks cleaner.
Downside will be when debugging a program it's easier to spot a bad selection when they are all presented.
