  1. below is an example where a variable is create for this value.

I have a sample post I can send you.

I think that with the A2100 you can change your settings so that it will process drill cycles per Fanuc standards. That way you would not have to create a special post for this machine.

incdrdp = abs(refht - depth) # For Incremental drill depths

    pdrill # Canned Drill Cycle

    n, *sgdrill, *x, *y, *incdrdp, *frplunge

  2. from the manual:

setting 22 Can Cycle Delta Z

This setting specifies the distance the Z-axis is retracted to clear chips during a G73 canned cycle. The range

    is 0.0 to 29.9999 inches (0-760 mm).

G73 Irregular Path Stock Removal Cycle (Group 00)

D Number of cutting passes, positive number

    * F Feed rate to use throughout G73 PQ block

I X-axis distance and direction from first cut to last, radius

K Z-axis distance and direction from first cut to last

P Starting Block number of path to rough

Q Ending Block number of path to rough

    * S Spindle speed to use throughout G73 PQ block

    * T Tool and offset to use throughout G73 PQ block

    * U X-axis size and direction of G73 finish allowance, diameter

    * W Z-axis size and direction of G73 finish allowance

I do not see where this could be used for chip break cycle.

I think G74 may be what you are looking for, but I have not used.

    Program Example Description

    %

    O0071

    T101

    G97 S750 M03

    G00 X3. Z0.05 (Rapid to Start position)

    G74 Z-0.5 K0.1 F0.01 (Feed Z-.5 with a .100" peck)

    setting #22 controls the retract

  3. un fortunatly we do not have an install disk for X6 that I know of we have been doing the updates from downloading since before MCX2

Download the "Whats New" from mastercam.com (same as whats on the DVD)

    X6 What's New - Self-extracting *.exe mastercamx6-whatsnew.exe

  4. if the X-offset is off, the slot will be curved.

With C-axis milling, to move a feature, you can not simply offset the X axis. For example, if you program a 1" square, and the offset X .25, you will not get a 1.25" square. The 4 sides will be curved because X/C values would need to be changed in the program.

If the control has the option to convert XY code, to XC motion (maybe G114), you could do a test cut to see if it is a problem with the machine setup or if the problem is with the code.

  5. Then you have to buy solids and it costs you more anyway, lol.

Mastercam Solids option is not required for FBD / FBM, but a solid model is required. With Mastercam, solid bodies can be imported and toolpaths created without purchase of Mastercam Solids.

Mastercam Solids option is a CAD tool. Adding this option has no effect on any toolpath creation.

    Right?

  6. after sending the "Remote Request", highlight "All Programs" from the bottom of the "List Program" page, and the select "Receive".

This will prepare the machine to load whatever is sent into main memory.

With a new Haas, I recommend the Ethernet Option. They have this setup where it is literally plug and play, and makes files transfers issues a thing of the past. No software required.

  7. look in the NC Output section of the Control Definition at "Alternate EOB characters". The will take care of the end of line.

For the start of line, modifying the block number to include the " may be the way to go.

Also consider using Cimco edit to add the " and start and end of each block during the transmit. (if loading by rs232).
