  1. hmmm thats kind of a pain.. I was hoping that it might be something that was a bug and going to be fixed in X2 or X3 etc....
  2. Hey thanks for the reply. The problem with that is that we want the autosave files that we named per each computer that has mastercam on it to follow the folder per-se. The backup function will limit us to one folder for each computer if I'm reading right.. I can relate to Mastercam crashes but since we've upgraded out stations to $10,000+ xenon boxes ( i know must be nice lol) we've had Very few crashes none that i can relate to autosave directly. However.... Hey brotha! just noticed your Profile Name. COOL! He is comming...
  3. Hello all new poster here Ive been using Mastercam for a few years now and for the most part its been 9. When our company switched to X a few months ago we tried to set up the autosave function the same as 9. In the autosave parameters the file name was setup as the computer name with no path. For example " mastercam1.mc9 " This was perfect for us because whenever we had a new part we would have a new folder for that part name. Thus MCAM9 would just autosave the file in the folder that we were currently working in. And it would follow every time we started a new file in a new folder. Perfect! I should mention that we are using an hourly backed up network drive in our company to store our files on per there policy Now in X we set up the autosave parameters the same. But while we just give it the file name " mastercam1.mcx " during the first autosave and subsequent saves it OVERWRITES the file name in the configuration menu tab with the entire Path, ie " d:blablablamastercam1.mcx ". Then all subsequent auto saves are in that folder unless you go back to the configuration to change it! Very aggravating... Ive tried multiple ideas to keep this from happening and nothing has worked. The reason for needing this is that we have 4 different stations and multiple users in multiple folders at a time, Plus the fact that (when using 9 ) we could always know that if we went to a certain part # folder and we realized that upon closure of the part#ed file it was corrupted, we had the autosave file in the same folder. We were saved a couple of time from that. Now in X when you open a new file and start working on it in a new folder you created, the autosaves are overwriting the last project you were working on. Sorry to be long winded on this! Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance! [ 05-26-2007, 05:11 PM: Message edited by: 71hotrodpinto ]
