  1. Keith I have Precix router and I am using it to cut surface all the times. I have closed contours, contractor did this with region six years ago, I can't use it.
  2. This is a size: x=2109.5mm y=1105.3mm z=119mm part with 1mm steps. total 90 steps. I am going to use a block of 15lb density polyurethane foam, it seems so time consuming to do this. is there a more effective way to do it, I am wondering, have to work on other projets, not much time to do some testing.
  3. Thad: Is surface rough pocket use region or surface, region is intend to crash when asked for geometry. Thanks!
  4. Hi All: I'd like to cut a surface the same as the picture in the attached link, any idea how I can do that, I had never done that before. http://www.modelshop.bc.ca/company/company-09.htm Thanks!!
  5. Hi All: I uploaded my file to my FTP site. ftp.smartt.com Username: ftpmodel Password: bigtoys Folder: for mastercam users Thanks!
  6. Hi All: I have a old topo down by others 6 years ago, they used region to cut the surface, the surface show steps, I'd like to do the same I use to cut topo as smooth surface (stl file)rather than lots of steps, and I had never used region before, could anyone tell me how I can use region instead. Thanks!
  7. This is a topographic surface, I use foam as the material to cut then fiberglass it, this surface contaions hundres of thousands of small surfaces, I select all surfaces as drive and didn't select any surface as check, I don't think I can stop it at those spots, most of these are occuring in the valley. All of the gouges are smaller than my filter tolerance. Is there any limit regarding the gouges?
  8. I have a 3d surface tool path, after I run collision check, there are lots of gouges found, how can I get rid of them? Thanks!
  9. Hi: all I am working on a topographic surface. The finish path I generated seems ok, but when I backplot, the tool stoped lots of times and in the same time I've got a warning: illegal arcs Can anybody please tell me what's happend here as I can't find any help topic to help me with this matter. Thanks in advance!
  10. I may need permit to upload my files on the FTP site, anyone knows how can I get it?
  11. Thanks indeed for all your help, I checked every aspect you mentioned here, but none of them seems to be the case. I have four surfaces to work and they are all the same size except the z, I had the surface-1 done beautifully but start from surface-2 I have problem with the finish path, there is no problem occur on the rough path. After I done all the checks upon your suggestions, I had a thought about my post processor, here is what I did: 1: use the default post processor RPFAN.PST to post my surface-2 finish path. 2: use my PRICIX_MODELSHOP.PST to post the same. ( This post processor was Written two years ago by our MasterCam dealer and I have been using it ever since, and I used this processor posted my surface-1 path.) I repeat the same two steps to post surface-3 finish path Here is what I found: When I use default processor, all the NC code look like this: X1.6387Z-1.2875K-32.8133 G3X1.592Z-1.2928I-.0467K.2015 X1.5824Z-1.2926K.2068 G1X1.5693Z-1.2879 G2X1.3664Z-1.287I-.2028K-23.2538 X1.1694Z-1.2879K-23.2547 G3X1.0842Z-1.2954I-.0852K.475 X1.077K.4825 G2X.9019Z-1.3444I.0339K-.4577 X.8317Z-1.4052I.1234K-.2137 G1X.7531Z-1.5062 G2X.7191Z-1.5849I.2062K-.1356 G1X.7179Z-1.5916 X.698Z-1.6372 G2X.6366Z-1.7361I.4012K-.3179 G1X.6074Z-1.7704 X.5947Z-1.7709 G3X.5372Z-1.7855I-1.7222K6.6224 G1X.5259Z-1.7904 G2X.4968Z-1.7872I-.0291K-.1301 X.4833Z-1.7879K-.1333 X.3821Z-1.7872I-.1013K-8.0339 X.3168Z-1.7875K-8.0345 When I use the other processor, beside all the code above, it also contains part of code as below and all the wrong z are in this part.
