  1. Hello, Is there a way to get the mastercam tool list to only show some operations? I have multiple toolpath groups in a file. I right clicked on one of the groups selected setup sheet and then hit the tool icon and it lists every tool in both groups. TIA Tony

    AUTO SAVE

Thanks, Is there a link for that at the mastercam web site? Another thing that that it is doing is that it overwrites the previous autosave file each time. Before it would create a new file each time, autosave 1, autosave 2, etc. I think taht is the main problem. I think it is saving both files but just overwriting the previous one each time. Tony
  3. Hello, When I upgraded to MCX2 MR2 SP1 from MCX2 MR1 there were some changes with autosave. Before auto save would save multiple files that I had open, alternating between them, now it only saves the one I am working. Does anyone have a fix for this. It worked great before but now it doesn't seem to even be worth the lag it causes when it is saving. TIA Tony
  4. I will check my control definition for those settings. Do you have anything changed in your post as well? Our machines are capable of x/z helical interpolation so if I can get the code we shoulb be in business. Thanks, Tony
  5. Hello, I have never been able to use Mastercam for pipe threads and once again have run into a situation where the program from one of our tooling supliers will not work either. The part has a 1.5 dia. x 11.5 TPI NPTF thread about 13 inches down in the part. I made the first three prototypes with a standard 5 flute helical thread mill but could not get the chatter out of the threads. Tooling guys want to try to a single point insert in a long anti-vibe lathe bore bar. The reason I normally cant use Mastercam to make tapered pipe threads is it will not break up arcs in quadrants, even after changing the breakarcs setting in the post. I did post out some code for a single point tool and still get acrs broken in 180 degree arcs instead of 90 degrees. Is there a setting I am missing in the post or is it not possible to output arcs in quadrants with a threadmill toolpath? TIA, Tony
  6. No luck, i cant get the finish turn toolpath to follow my contour. It wont plunge into the part. I tried all the different plunge paremeters but did not get any change. I would gladly put it on the ftp site but i do not know how. Thanks, Tony
  7. I did try it on the finish turn toolpaths and it worked but the toolpath in question is a groove rough and finish toolpath. In the finish parameters I still can't get a negative number in the X stock to leave. I can probably take out the finish path of the groove toolpath and just do another finish turn operation. Thanks, Tony
  8. I could if I wanted the part bigger by .00015 but I need the X and Z smaller by .00015
  9. I am working on a lathe part and am trying to put a -.00015 stock to leave on my finish passes to allow for plating build up. Mastercam will not let me put in a negative value. You can do it in milling paths, I dont understand why you cant in lathe. Is there another way to do this in Mastercam X2(besides redrawing the part). Doing it with tool offsets at the machine is not an option. Thanks, Tony
  10. I Think that G94 is the default value, thats what the other machines are set at. Do you know what that varible would be?
  11. The machine is a Makino A-66 with a pro three control. I found a converter when I serched the forum and at my diameter of 12.795 it came up with a feed rate of 224 deg/min(based on 25 IPM linear feed rate). Does the B axis automaticly use deg/min or do I have give it a command? There is a G95 "feed per rotation" command in my G-code list. I tried it both ways in MDI(G94 feed per minute & G95) and couldn't see much of a difference by eye in the speed of the table. Any Ideas? Thanks Tony
  12. Anybody have any experince with this?
  13. Hello, I am manually programming a simple B axis rotatation and am wondering if there is an easy formula to figure out my feed rate from the linear feed rate. All I want to do is feed to position in Z @ 25 IPM and then rotate 360 degrees but at that feed rate the table is barely turning. Any help would be great. TIA Tony
  14. This is what I used on a Fadal 88HS controll T4M6(.3125 DRILL E1 X0 Y0 S2200 M3 Z0.1 H4 M8 G83G98R+0.1Z-1.22 F40. I1. J.8 K0.25 L0 XY G80G0Z1.M5M9 G91 G28 Z0 G90 G80 G40 G17 G0 Tony
