So, my coworkers and I have been looking into finding out how to merge multiple SolidWorks solid models into Mastercam all in one go. But when brought in, they always converge to the origin point all on top of one another in a jumbled mess. Is there any way to SEPERATELY merge multiple assemblies/parts into the workspace?

Without all your parts being in 1 assembly file then no.

Each solid part has it's own origin, when merging into Mastercam it merges to origin.

With assemblies there is assembly origin even though each part has it's own origin within the assembly.

I bring in assemblies all the time and it will place the individual parts onto their own level.

The bringing of part names is still an issue though, which can be negated by saving as parasolid 1st then bring into mastercam.

don't forget to account for arguing with the customer over the flatness callout on the print, when they actually wanted parallelism.

Lol.. funny you mention that, I received this in my email last week.

That's what it sounds like to me, but I wouldn't think a flat bottom drill would cut like that.  Maybe because the corners of the tool never touch?

I don't see a problem with using that tool. The carbide nature of the tool should give it the rigidity needed although I would think the length

would be no more than 3D

Thanks for the solution, I'll give it a try, and I didn't contact my reseller because it hadn't been as big of a bother to me until now. I also figured I would give the forums a shot before contacting my re-seller as emailing them takes a few days to get a response, and the person at our shop who has their number is out for the rest of the week.

I have posted a link to this thread into the thread you had started on 'My Mastercam' forum.
