  1. Hi all!

I have been using MastercamSimulatorDefaults with modified values regarding tolerances and it has been working fine untill now.

The defaults values in Mastercam Simulator is not picking up the values from the MastercamSimulatorDefaults file anymore.

Does anyone have had this issue and solved it?

    Best Regards
    Rickey

  2. I am experience some issues on my Mastercam 2022, and have done it for some time and now it is becoming a annoying thing.

When using some operations when choosing geometry or in the collision control the End Selection & Clear Selection buttons are sometimes missing.

Any solutions to the problem besides upgrading to Mastercam 2023?

    (EDIT: Now with missing image.)

    Best regards from Sweden.

It is a Windows problem…go into your Bios and disable your switchable graphics.

Might be an off topic but I have / had a problem with the built-in Intel graphics. Disabling it in device manager coursed me problems in windows with lag making the computer unusable. Strange but true. Is there any difference in disable it in bios rather than in windows device manager?

  4. Interesting topic, have been working on Mastercam för 5+ years.

Where can i download the benchmark file and how does it work?

It would be fun to run it on my collueges 7 year old computers anc compare it to my new one. 🙂

The Lenovo P73 was also looking like a decent deal if anyone is looking for a workstation laptop.

Sounds good! We are actually looking at this machine as a replacement to our large old gaming computers from 2013 with i7, 16GB, 256GB SSD, GeForce 780Ti.

Let's hope the performance will be as good as I hope for! =)

    File >> Change Recognition

In a new file position your new solid where your current solid that you want to replace is located

    Save it

Open your file to alter, click on file >> Change Recognition

It will leave the paths that match alone and note the ones that changes and will need to be updated.

It can be a bit weird getting it done the first couple of times but it's a process you can get used to....

This actually help quite a bit! Some training to it and I think I can make the changes.

Still think our way to work should be with surfaces instead of solids. Much more simple in our daily work with many minor changes from customer.

  7. I can't find any newer treads of this so I post a now one.

I have a many operations program based on a solid part, some help-lines and help-surfaces.

I want to update the solid part with minor changes on it.
Is it possible to swap the solid part in some way and maintain the operations associated to the non changed parts.
Lets say the change only is a small pocket in a advance geometry.

    Cheers!

Hi, yes the solid geometry is preventing you from import.

In the toolpath tab select nesting, a dialog will open right click in the parts area and select "add operation cluster from file" then in the sheets area right click and select add rectangular, press ok.

Side note nesting only supports top and bottom plane operations.

Side note to avoid this issue im the future assign your toolpaths to surfaces instead of a solid and you will be anle to import operation with geometry.

Side note; even though there is a warning from the import solid operation, if you import your 3d model, there is a chance it will assign the toolpaths anyway.

Thanks for well written instructions but this did unfortunately not work.
As you mentioned in the notes probably coursed by tool-planes and 5-ax operations.

"Warning - MultiAxis operations are not supported"

If you have solid chains you will need to use nesting to import the toolpaths then it will add all your operations into separate groups and you can delete the nesting operation.

I've tried to import / merge each file but Mastercam and importing toolpaths frome files including geometry but getting error "solid geometry from external file is not accessible" Operations witch uses lines works after regeneration, but toolpaths connected to solids/surfaces are missing the geometry to work.

Please tell me more how to use "nesting to import the operations".

  10. I have multiply part files in my folder.
They have been one part-file from the beginning with groups "program1, program2, program3..."
Someone in my team did not like this and split the file into 15 part files.

My question is: Is it possible to merge this part files into one file again?

I have tried merging the files but only get the geometry added. Merging or importing the toolpath seems to be not easy.
