  2. Hi! I am having trouble adjusting this. When we drill with B90 the hole center location is 0.25mm further in from the turned face, So, rotation center must be off, right? I have tried to adjust it to no avail and I simply don't understand what I do wrong. The procedure I followed to try to correct this is as follows, in detail: Set BA61 to 0. Set BA62 to nominal value to spindle face from center: 250000. This is done at home position. The values before doing this is BA61:53 AND BA62:2500485 1. Mount an adjustment tool in the spindle, precision ground to have radius 45 and length 65. 2. Mount indicator to chuck. Then in B0 touch the radius of the tool at the highest point to the indicator, find this point my adjusting Y axis when touching the indicator. make sure it is at 0. Write down the machine coordinates of X. In this case -494.9825. Take the absolute value here and ad the tools radius, so we get 539.9825. 3. Index B axis to 90 and touch of the face of the tool at the indicator, at the same 0 point. Write down the macine coordinates of this X. In this case -224.944. Take the absolute value and ad the length of the tool. Here we get 289.944. Now, take absolute X1 and subtract Absolute X2. We get: 250.0385 4. While the machine is in B90, readjust the indicator so that we can touch of the tools radius instead of it's face, do the same things as in 2. And write down Z coordinates this time. In this case -146.0203 add the radius of the tool: absolute value 191.0203. 5. So the same thing as in 3 but with the B axis at B0. Take Z machine coordinates and add the length of the tool(not absolute this time). We get -124.0609+65= -59.0609 Finally take Z2 and subtract Z1. We get= -59.0609-191.0203=-250.0812. 6. We have X 250.0385 and Z 250.0812. Now for BA61 we take X divided by Z. So 250.0385-250.0812=-0.0427/2=0.02135*1000=- 21.35 For BA62= 250.0385+250.0812=500.1197/2=250.05985*10000=2500598 BA61= -21 BA62= 2500598 7. Return to home position and write in the values in the parameters. Restart machine. Measure a turning tool, a drill, and an endmill. Face a part with B0 and drill a hole and helical mill it at B90. Calculate position and measure. Now, the measurement is - exactly the same as before. 0.25 wrong in Z. There is no difference. Also when you mill a plane in B90, say two planes 180°, the mills need compensation in X-0.3 to get to programmed value. Very weird. I repeated the procedure several times. Now, can anything else give this Z error at B90? Or am I doing something wrong? Can some other parameter block BA61 and BA62 so they aren't active? It's driving me nuts. Perhaps a grid shift is needed somehow that is only applied with B axis in 90°... No idea.. Very thankful for any kind of insight on this.
