  1. only alum. side assemblies-no more tank transmissions, we are swamped with Cat flywheel housings of every size, shape, and flavor. The shop is working 24/7 to meet demand. 2 new okk 100s being installed this week. Cat job bidding process is killing us--margins cut to the bone--like my boss says " we are shipping a 10 dollar bill with each part" Ha Ha. There are still a few Chupicks around here. Since I am the new guy(Marty V. left and I am his replacement)I haven't met everyone yet, but I will pass on the greetings. Regarding my original question, I'm wondering if this sort of "G60 emulation in post" approach is possible. The local reseller post guy in the past frankly has not been much help at all. We'll get back to you is what we are told, then nothing.
  2. I think this is another example of design engineers gone mad--we've had 6 different complete revisions, the customer said we should just semi finish all parts and they would handle the finishing. Ha ha that lasted for 5 parts. We are holding +- 15 microns true position on our machines (makinos) now and they couldn't hold +- 30 microns at all.you gotta love it Pbo
  3. We are still trying to come up with options at this time. Actually only one machine has the truly ridiculous tolerances--true position projections of 12" past the 12" bore package depth accumulative error of .0002 this customer has said they want to see how close we can get. I personally think a vertical spindle Sip type jig borer finishing op. is the only way to approach this, but not suited to high volume large parts.
  4. Hello to all, I have been reading and lurking for a month or so around here and wow, what a fountain of information this forum is.I work at CBS Boring in Fraser Michigan CBS Boring Homepage very high production HMCs -OKK 100s and 80s,Makino A99s,Cinci Magnum 800s Most of the controls are Fanuc 16i and 18i We want to get the G60 option enabled but Fanuc wants 500$ a machine to turn it on. So... Has anyone had experience modifying an mp_easy post with unidirectional positioning??? Our Senior Programmer has a few custom canned cycles for boring, deep gun drilling, backspotfacing that work real well. He is trying to perfect his positioning mods- but every 1 out of 10 posting attempts he loses the positioning moves(10 mm ++) and tap cycles post as G81 cycles. My post customization skills are not to that level but I am eager to hear(read)all offerings. Thanx, Pbo any and all help will be greatly appreciated
