Thanks for all of your help guys. Thad i tried going to screen-configure-nc settings, but i see no surface settings i have MC 8.0 is there a way do that with this verison?

I have also tried the Drive/check on the surface toolpath menu. I clicked on and selected my check surfaces clicked done. then i wrote the toolpath selected check surfaces and i still get the error (Check surfaces are used but none are selected)

Thankyou for your response CadCam, im looking at it now and where it gives me the option to select Rough or Finish all there is below it is Drive/check. i have MC8 i think maybe we are talking about 2 diffrent versions.

when you select the (surface finish contour) toolpath it ask you to select drive and check surfaces. but it only selects the drive surfaces. is there a way to select check surfaces with out having to select them after the toolpath is already written. i have been trying to figure it out but i keep getting a message after the tool path is written saying (no check surfaces selected) so i figure that there is a way to select them before i write the toolpath. can anyone help me?

there are times when i need to leave more stock on certian areas of my pocket rough toolpath. but mastercam wont let me. is there away around this prob?

another thing that works well. if you increase your stepover% to something outragous in the surface rough pocket it works just like a contour finish but better cause it steps down on walls that have no taper. insted of jumpimg over them.

there is a pocket finish or a reason for it?
