infinate look ahead prevents the toolpath from crossing itself to protect against gouging.
Hope this helps

Hi all,
When crating a note, is there a way to create and save your own symbols?
Thanks

Was the tool checked????

Crazy millman is right, the go should go first unless the P.D. is bad.

Thanks 88Matt,
Is there any vid for autosave??
-
How true that is with the cmm/inspection department. two different inspectors two VERY different results.

CNC Apps Guy ,,,
how do you get the backup.mcx to stick? do you use the auto save, are any boxes checked??????
Thanx
-
there are actually (8) calculators
-
Very nice, thanks

thanks guys

I used it on V9 where I had it save to a single file.
eg. lathe_bakup or mill_backup
Can X do that instead of saving hundreds of different versions/stages of the file?

What is the best way to use the "AUTOSAVE" FEATURE?
I had the autosave feature checked along with "save using active file name" .
After months of this I looked into c:mcamxmcx directory and found hundred of duplicate file names using a LOT of memory.
example:
*@100.MCX
*@101.MCX
*@102.MCX
*@103.MCX
.
.

.
.
Are there any better options??????
Thanks

I have used inserted tools (Kennametal) for rough machining. I have used them also for finishing, but when close tolerance slots were involved I used a high helix mini-cut. YES, it work hardens very easy, keep an eye on the tools.

Front view = B0
Right view = B90
Back view = B180
Left view = B270
Could your views be out of sinc.?

Make the switch, you will never look back!!

Yes thanks got it.

Thanks Matt,
I understand how the URL codes with internet stuff, but how does it work with linking a file at the FTP site??

Thanks Randy, I had a feeling that the canned cycle wasn't working right. I guess that unless it is a simple tool path like rough turning a straight diameter the rough canned is useless.
I have noticed with the simple stuff MC canned cycle works, its the multiple steps, etc. where MC has the problem.
I remember in V9, you never saw the full canned motion in backplot, you only saw the finish pass.
Is it possible to see it that way again????? You never had a collision in previous versions.
Again thanks for the help and info.
-
I get the collision on ALL approach moves. Our guys like the Okuma canned cycle. Depth of cut, amount to leave, etc. can be adjusted on the floor instead of reposting.
The main problem is the tool tapis into the part then the g1. If you look at the diameter behing the large collar diameter it rapids quite a bit into the piece. (not to cool with 13-8 heat treated).

Randy, I put it on the FTP site in the lathes directory with file name LU25-337.MCX
I have also tried what you decribed above with no good reslts.
-
I changed the rapid moves to .100 and visually there is no change and I still get the collision.
-
I have placed a file (LU25-337.mcx) onto the FTP site in the lathe directory. I would have added a link, but don't know how.
Thanks
machine definition password problem
in Industrial Forum
Posted
Hi all,
I have added a password protection to my Machine definition. All programmers use the same files located on the network so password protection is needed. I had a list of passwords on my last PC that has crashed and my IT guys could NOT retrieve any information. Is there a way to remove or reset the password for the machine def. and the control def.?
Thanks
