  1. Peter, thanks for the info. I installed X on one of our older computers that has V.9 on it and it does not recognize the Hasp either. So, now i know that it is the hasp that is out dated. The confusing thing is when i go to the Mcam Simswap form that you had mentioned it said that there was not a Hasp available on my computer. Long story short, is it my computer that is having problems or the Hasp? Someone please help!!!!
  2. I have tried all that I can think of trying but everything keeps telling me that the hasp does not exist. So it is not a mcam issue, it is that my computer does not recognize the hasp. How do I fix this??????
  3. My company just purchased a new computer so that we can run MastercamX more effeciantly but after I installed Ver. X when I try to open it, it says that the hasp is not available. Does anyone know what I have done wrong?
  4. We are turnig some parts that we have to hold .0003" on the dia. We have already made and shipped 60 pcs just using digital mics, but now we have to run upwards of up to 1000 pcs. My question is, is there a quick and accurate way of checking this OD for an operator? The OD is just under .75". I have heard of using an air mic, but I don't recall ever having seen one of these before. Any info would be great. Thanks
  5. That would be great, but who are you?
  6. I am currently looking for a new place of enployment if anyone is interested. 7. Thank you cmr, what you said makes perfect sense. I havent been able to go out and try it yet and from the graphics it looks like i probably will need to play with it a little bit but i think it is deffenetly what I am looking for.
  8. I appreciate all of your info. The cutter is a bull nosed cutter w/ a .062 radius. The only places where the tool is leaving swirl marks is on the edges where the tool moves to start the next line. I don't know if that makes sence or not. The pocket has a shape similier to an eye drop shape. So on the large and small radius sides is where i am having the problems, not in the middle when the machine is moving in straight lines. Does this help?
  9. I am machining a .03" deep pocket in 6061 and the finish has to be nice and smooth. Right now it has swirl marks. I have tried both carbide and hss but both are the same. Any ideas? The part gets anodized so the finish cannot be very noticable. Thanks for your help.
  10. I am having to broach a 3mm hex into some titanium screws on our swiss machine but the broach seems to dull very quickly and then break causing everything else to break. Has anyone got some ideas on solving this probelm? Thanks,
  11. Yes, that is what i need. (i think?)
  12. I am not quite as familiar with Mastercam lathe as I am with mill so I was hoping one of you guys could help me. I am needing to cut a contour in the face of my part using a .08 wide flat face grooving tool. I am needing to create a "v" shape ( < ) in the face of the part but I cannot seem to create a face grooving tool in Mastercam lathe. I can write the program free hand, but roughing the shape is what is going to be difficult. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a bunch.
  13. I know. That is what I was trying to say. There is no way that the machine is actually putting out 30 horses. Do you have any good ideas on a plunge cutter? We have been looking but no luck.
  14. We are machining some parts out of 6061-T6 that is about 5" X 4" X 2.5" thick using a 3 flute Diamond Back series roughing endmill form Destiny Tool that works awsome, the only problem is we don't have the horse power to make our cycle times faster. We are running the parts with a .75" endmill on a Haas VF-4 with supposedly 30 horse power at 10000 rpm and about 110 ipm. I can only go about a .5" deep on the cut or the machine runs well beyond 100%. The cycle time right now is about 10 minutes and needs to be more like 8, but we just don't have the HP. Does any one now if there might be a better cutter that reduces horse power without losing cycle time? Thank you all very much for your time.
