  1. "Warning - file contains entities in the graphics background color"

Is there a way to get rid of this message without changing colors? Background is gradiant grey. Part is grey. Part is extremely visible.

Are you sure about that? When using this in conjunction with change recognition does this not update the MC file?

BTW... My experience with MC4SW has been less than useful. Too many bugs.

  3. I rule of thumb that I follow is to remove the history of the model before even starting a tool path. Then I delete the geometry. Working with Gibbscam for a while made me absolutely hate wireframe entities...and Gibbscam. Using Gibbscam is like using Windows 98 all over again.

  4. I agree. The problem comes in when you make a change to a model. Move a hole, or whatever. Most of the time I can just regenerate the tool paths and the model. Sometimes it will not allow me to regenerate the model until I regenerate the tool path. However, when you regenerate the path the dirty op shows it has been regenerated, but once you go and look at the model manager it will not let you refresh the model because it shows the tool paths are still dirty. Then when you go back to the tool path it shows that it was never regenerated.

The only way I can see to regenerate the model when this happens is to create a wireframe and associate all of those paths to that wireframe, then regenerate the model and then re-associate all of the paths back to the model.  Most times I do not have this issue. It seems to be a new bug since 2019.

I am curious how much demand there would be for this type of training.

Perhaps I need to poll a few shops in the area to gage demand.

I believe it is an addon. When I installed 2020 MC for Inventor was automatically installed since we have inventor. Models that are updated in Inventor, or SW,  have the ability to auto update toolpaths as long as you are working directly from the model in mastercam and not wireframe. It is much better than giving up the functionality of MC. Especially when you just want to make quick fixturing that does not require the headache of a full blown design package.

  6. Can't you just reselect the machine in the machine group files menu? That is what I do.

    More 2020 issues:

In the transform op, You cannot see all ops unless you collapse the top level.

Center drills always cause an invalid tool message in verify.

Chaining edges of faces that were split causes serious issues. It does not always like split face edges for tool paths and tends to go backwards.

When selecting depth parameters for drill cycles in incremental mode the box does not populate with the correct values. It seems to load the absolute values from origin.

Change parameters at point for drilling is totally F'in useless. Is this a WIP?

When multiple drill points are selected and you try to delete individual points, it always deletes the first points instead of what you want.

Other than that, I see fantastic improvements in 2020.
