  1. Hello everyone,

Trying to burn a hole, the hole is tipped about the X 20° and abouth the Y 12° I am asked at 20° were can we rotate the part about ctr to get the hole in position to burn thru, I am hopeing one or more of you are more math oriented than myself and can tell me why it cannot be done without the 2nd tip, I do not believe it can but the setup guys are not convienced.

Note It is a round part, 30 holes equal spaced on a concentric bolt circle

    Thanks Everyone.

  2. 3 axis Vertical Machine

When programming Rotary Indexing we us A0, A90. and A-90 and A180. presently my post is outputing Absolute(A0 A90 A180 and A270) and keeps counting up past 360°, I want to fix this to output A0, A90. and A-90. and A180, and do not count up past 360°.

    Thanks everyone

  3. Anyone using a NetHasp, I would like to put our Machine def and control files as well as tool files in their respective folders on our server but before I do that and path our config files, has anyone done this or am I asking for trouble, there may be more than 1 person using a machine def and or tool file at any one time, will that be a problem? My obvious goal is for all of us to be working with the SAME files and settings.

    Thanks Kennebec

  4. Using Mastercam X2 cutting 1/2-14 od NPT operators are having to cheat their offsets, in the X positive direction more than just a wear type adjustment, below is the posted output.

Note I-.0166 is correct for the Z-.5337 at 1.7833° but were is the adjustment for approach we are at a Z.2204, I posted this with no adjustments, just default settings...

have you looked in your toolpath Planes tab to see that for "but when it post it post A0 and it should be A270, " toolpath your planes are 1)WCS Top 2)Tool Plane A270 and 3)Comp/Construction Plane A270

  6. the way I setup my views

Draw 2 short lines from your origin to the X+ and to the Y+ directions of the desired view, go to Gview and select entity, select your 2 lines X 1st and from the origin end then Y from the origin End chain both in positive direction, note Axis nomes should point to XY and Z Plus if not pick next until they do, now name and save the newly created view

    Trying to help...

  7. Hello everyone

McamX2 MR2 trying the Solids-Solid Drilling for the 1st time it looks promising but I am using a WCS that repositioned the solid for machining that flipped it Bottom side up, my new WCS set X and Y zeros to ctr as original but my new Z Zero is the NEW Top (originally was farside) and my spot cycle wants to go to the original Z zero

    Thanks

  8. Using the Design Module on a NETHasp, X2MR2

Simple Line/Arc Data on Level 1 (finish Part Customer Supplied Data)

Level 2 In process stock (rgh operation)

Level 3 Dimensions for In process operation

Delete a dimension on level 3 to go back and change level 2 in process material conditions

return to level manager and see that there are 0 (ZER0) entities on ALL layers

Returned to main menu and File, Open, Recent, and returned to original file.

In the past had not noticed the Zero Entities and have lost all DATA and started over, any similar problems or ideas what is going on?

This has only come up since approximately when the windows update issue showed up

  9. I believe I caused my own problem going from lathe to mill I did a save as and added M to my file name for Mill, then added a machine type, Mill and deleted the Lathe Ops and machine type, and somehow failed to save the cleaned up file, I have not had a lot of luck with multiple Machine types in 1 file so I use file name "L" and "M" for lathe and mill.

    Thanks

    Kennebec

  10. Using NetHasp (not a new setup just a new problem)

I am using /s or /m3 to open solids or mill3

I can open files but as soon as I try to add a Machine Type the following error pops up

"Error checking out mill level 3 License

The NetHasp is not connected to the NetHasp Server"

it sounds like a path problem just not sure what it is, I need the NetHasp to open Mcam at all correct?

  11. I am having this from time to time it seems like one to two times a day and I am not specifically Transforming operetions but just changing tool path parameters, it seems related to the X2 MR2 vs. Windows update situation discussed in earlier threads

    Net Hasp with switches

  12. We are haveing discussions as to the best way to handle parts with multiple operations, some like a new file for each operation, some like multiple tool path groups all in 1 file with layers and colors, we also disagree a bit about the use of WCS vs Moving Geometry, your opinions, Pro and Con are

    appreciated.

    Thanks Kennebec

  13. I have a job with 2 operations 1st is lathe with a stock flip, once complete I added a new Machine Type "Mill" and proceeded thru the milling. the job has run and now I want to revisit the late operation to fix my errors for future reference but I am unable to get the late op active again.

"Warning Feature not available Mill cannot access lathe operation"

    Using Nethasp Mastercam X2MR1(11.1.3.12)

    SP1(11.1.4.0)

    Thanks
