  1. The problem has been sent to Axsys Inc. in MI our Mastercam dealer. Hopefully they can give us an answer. I'll post back when I get to the bottom of this. Thanks for the help!
  2. The code I was talking about was a fixed subroutine (L9801 I believe). It uses an X and Y for the center and R for the radius. It is only for boring, the tool plunges at center then moves out to cut the radius.
  3. As far as I know the code has to read a start position, with center of arc position given as I & J, and a finish position, also with corresponding I & J. With a 360 degree move the start and finish position are the same so the machine doesn't move cause it's already there. Some machines have different codes available like a fadal control has a code for boring. I don't use it cause the post in Mastercam doesn't write it so I don't know what it is right off hand. If I recall correctly it was one line of code with a parameter for dia only. I'll check it out and get back to you. [ 09-27-2001: Message edited by: Kevin in MI ]
  4. Sorry, it was tried from autocad14 and 2000. It's an assembly file and ,wouldn't you know it, the part I need to machine is the part that doesn't convert. Go figure. I tried to have the designer save just the part to a separate file and even that doesn't work. I brought it over as an IGES and it converts, but we paid extra for the ACad converter so I just thought that it should work. Where I work, we are not allowed internet access or an open phone line so any communications have to be through the supervisor. Talk about a pain. I'm writing this from home. Thanks for your help so far. [ 09-27-2001: Message edited by: Kevin in MI ]
  5. I tried to convert an autocad file with the dwg converter in V8 and I received this message. Parasolid ® Kernel Interface Error: RTTOMP to many parents It was a solid model. I tried it exploded and not. When I view the file it only gives me one part with a few splines from another part. Any ideas what's wrong. Thanks for any help
  6. I just found this forum and thought I'd say hi. I've been programming with Mastercam for 7 years now. Started with version 4 and just recently had version 8 installed. I work with a Fadal vertical machining center. Really enjoy it. I've been a tool and diemaker for 22 years. I've got a question but I'll post it in another thread. Hi everyone.
