  1. I have about 75 holes in a pin plate to drill out what i would like to know is.

There are about 5 different holes sizes for my pins for the mold can I make all the 1/4 holes 1 color all the 1/2 holes a differet color and so on.

Can i do this quickly or will i have to change the color of each hole 1 at a time

  2. Jay,

Nice call on that 1 was trying to get the file to come in as a SAT. file did you try that. Something is wrong inside the model i think. For some reason the model is disjoined in Autocad. Thinks it's 2 models in 1. Franco did you use shell when building the model somewhere

  3. Scott,

    I sure can do that.

Boy sure hope our teacher picks up the 3-d class still in slow mode due to other people in the class. I'm helpping the teacher(Local shop owner i know) with the people that have alot of questions. They cann't even draw in 2-d but I remember being the beginner glad I'm thru that. Boces needs to come up with beginners classes or something, break the training it sectioned classes

    Thank you Scott

  4. I noticed on the Mastercams web site they now have add ons to solidworks ,inventor and solid edge to launch mastercam within those programs. I was wondering if maybe there maybe a chance that we might see 1 of those add-ons for Mech. Desktop. Sorry to Ask for that because some of us are still forced to be designing in mdt, would be nice to see pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzze

    Thanks

    Please Respond

  5. Ok cadcam,I checked the airflow for my power supply on my new case and it seems to be pushing the air out of where the power supply box is. Now for the case fan. I seem to forgot to mention that on the left side of the box it is not solid the manuf. Decided to put venting holes on the side. Should i still have the new case fan forcing the air out since the power supply seems to be doing that even with the power supply being in a small enclosed in part of the case.Or let the case fan blow air into the box and let that airflow escape through he vent holes in the side

    Thank you for your time

  6. To all please help,

I was writing between cadcam and couple other people. I have been building a new system and I bought a extra case fan for the back of the box. My question is,I cann't remember when putting the case fan in does the fan air flow direction go into the case or out

    thank you

I have transform Toolplane and create new geometry checked. What do i need checked on the bottom right side for g54 to 57. Oh yeah also using version 8.1.1. Forgot all you lucky chip makers got version 9 tongue.giftongue.giftongue.gif

    thanks

  8. smo,

try typing the command acisout or amacisout try the am command first it's been so long since i had to use that command. That will give you a sat file for conversion into mastercam. That command will ask you to select objects in mdt just type in all in mdt and hit enter. Also don't forget to set your acis version type for a command acisoutver

    1 will equal 10

    2=20

and so on i think you can go to

    6=60

try to avoid exploding your model because you will lose all parametrics to the model.

If the commands are not right for mdt right back and i will double check the commands but pretty sure those are the right commands.

  9. Sorry one last thing,

I have to get this off my chest,I don't know how every-one else feels but being able to generate toolpaths is only knowing about 1/3 of mastercam. I don't deal with our engineer at work for drawing revisions(and we get alot working in a mold shop)I have the pleasure of just having the big boss come to me with changes being made and i make them my self to what ever mold. And that's the way it should be. I cann't stress being able to draw enough. That is the way men or women should leave our classes. Being able to do almost eveything themselves.

    As CROSBY,STILLS AND NASH SAY

    TEACH TEACH OUR CHILDREN WELL.

please remember that because they really are our future of the way the world will be shaped for the future

    thank you

  10. Jay I'd like to chime in here,

Being a teacher at our community college for Mechanical desktop I think you are heading in the right direction with the having previous experience thing.I was told here's the class run with it. The one problem was first class I had to teach was an advanced class,I'd say 4 out of 20 didn't even know how to turn on a computer. You ask what this has to do with a mastercam class,Well those 4 students ate up alot of class time so the other 16 students had to wait for me to help the other 4. You really start to feel bad for those 16 because all the know how you want to pass on to them never gets there. The class was 2 nites a week 3 hrs. a nite for almost the whole semester.I would wind up staying like 1 1/2 hours extra a nite to teach the 16 what we didn't get to cover form the course outline i made for that nite. Got lucky had a bunch of good guys that were willing to stay extra,so i could help them. I also know how those students felt because when i took my 3d classes for mastercam, I felt ripped off because 3 of us knew how to draw and we sat there waiting and waiting for the rest of the class to catch up.The waiting got old real quick. So in closing please think of maybe having the students having some kind of drawing with cad or mastercam before your 3d class. Teaching how to draw can eat up alot of class time, so if you care what comes out of your class please make that a requirement to class. Even though almost everything you are taught how to draw in cad about parametrics doesn't really aply to mastercam.Except you basic commands for surface and solids. You will have a better time with having that under your belt.

Also sorry Michael I know you pain lost my father to cancer last year. You'll be ok hang in there pal keep the faith.

    thank you

    john

  11. The case I have is like my asus 1 it has the 2 fans on the back power and the extra fan.

And I would like to thank both of you very much Don't know what I would do with-out you guys.Probably generate a cavity mold at work and walk around for the rest of the day waiting and listening to my box hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. rolleyes.gif

  12. One Last Question Jam,

I should be getting my AMD friday.I ordered it from Motherboards.com. They say that the cpu comes with a compatible heatsink and fan. Should that be enough to keep the chip cool or should I invest in another fan. And if so would be be able to suggest a good site to visit to buy a better fan

    thank you alot

    john

  13. Ok I have a quick question,

I bought a Abit KT7a socket A motherboard and also a AMD 1.0 GHZ/200 MHZ front bus Processor. My question is when i dug deeper on info on the Abit boards I now found out they have a problem with running at a too high of temp. Has any-one else heard this and also is this a problem from the so-called computer wizards trying to over-clock the boards eek.gifeek.gifeek.gifeek.gifeek.gif

    Thanks

    john
