  1. Our company is doing some research on flexible manufacturing systems. horizontal mills fed by a rail guided vehicle for importing tombstones. is any one out in mastercam land using this type of system? and if so, what machines are most beneficial for job shop production runs. how do you like it? we are favoring Makino at this time.
  2. thanks, i apreciate your help
  3. hello all, when you cut in a linear motion (G1 xy) it feeds in inches per minute. when you cut in a rotation or rotary table (4rth axis) it feeds in degrees per min. is there a formula that will calculate the equivalent of ipm into dpm?
  4. TO INSERT AN M00 TO STOP THE PRGRAM IN BETWEEN OPERATIONS. IN THE TOOL PARAMITERS THERE IS A DIALOG BOX NAMED CANNED TEXT. SELECT STOP - BEFORE THE DESIRED OPERATION - OK.
  5. that worked wonderfull, thanks CAMmando. i am using version 9.1
  6. what i have to do is possition to z-.1 then enter into the groove (xy), then drop to z-.112 then cut the contour, then rise back to z.1 return back to safety start possition and back out. i am trying the use entry point in lead in/out but no success. i will keep trying until i put this to bed.
  7. Hello all, i am attempting to do a contour tool path in a tight area. what i am machining is a dove tail o ring groove. the print allows me to drill a tool entry dia offset to the groove at a different depth. but in mastercam i cannot find a toolpath to possition at a point, drop down to a safe clearance depth, move in drop down to finish depth and come back out to the saftey clearance point
  8. robk, i did a search in the help menu and found the route it takes you is creating a custom tool in the tool paramiters but not importing it externaly from an mc9 file. but i will give it another shot.
  9. hello all, i am attemting to write a contour cut path for a cnc grind operation for an o.d grinder. i drew the grinding wheel in mc9 lathe and cannot figure out how to import that into my geomitry file so i can use it as a custom tool. any imput would be appreciated. thanks guys.
  10. hello all great forum, my question is i am trying to project some geometry to a surface, to help us inspect a part with some complex surfaces. is there a way to create geo and project it to a surface? now this is geo not toolpath. thanks alot in advance.
  11. i seem to have a problem after importing a solid model from solid edge. it imports all the arcs in as a spline. so when i generate a simple 2d tool path it gives me these point to point possitions leaving facit marks on my part. any imput would be appreciated. thanks guys
