Did you use a full radius insert? The g-code goes well below centerline, so I presume this is a grooving tool? You need to be more specific.

We are delayed by the snow buildup on the Canadian Tundra. The Inhouse Igloo is completely filled with X boxes, but until the dogsled teams can conquer the snow, we are stuck.

Unfortunately the answer to that question is confidential and belongs on the reseller forum!

Allow posting to one decimal place, or to a limit of 100 lines. I requested this years ago. Students would be happy with this, and it would reduce the amount of cracked software trading hands at colleges. I agree: software that doesn't allow you to save files is useless to students, and they will opt for a cracked copy.

increase your gap settings, and use a different transition method. You can use a specific ramp angle and distance to transition between cuts.

It is an excellent investment with advanced feature recognition capabilities in a variety of planes. It is a bargain for what it can do, including proper depths for taps and reamers when following a drill, using circlemill for certain counterboring operations, etc. etc.

Yes, they are different. Prodrill is a more advanced add-on.
Take a look at Prodrill, it is WELL worth the money! Send your file to Anbu and see if he can perform the necessary magic.

I hate the control

My therapist says I will get over it but...
I HATE THE CONTROL!!!!

Check if the Mazak has something similar to the Heidenhain Cycle 19. If your dealer can't supply you with the right posts for the machine, try Brett at Inhouse. He will Pimp your CNC!
-
Before presuming the machine is a Thermwood, why don't you specify what it is? Router Pro has all the functionality of Mill L3. It is basically the same thing with some very minor differences.
-
DNC max is excellent and affordable. We have done many installations and I am not aware of any customer problems. It supports a wide variety of protocols (including many conversational formats like Mazatrol) and is extremely reliable.

Toolpath/next menu/circle toolpaths/threadmill
No need to draw in the thread or even to define the custom tool. Input the number of teeth on the insert and you are done.
-
use project blend between the edge curves (squashed)

Did you map it to feed instead of rapid? It is possible that your machine is doing 45 degree "dogleg" moves during angular G00 commands
try mapping to feed (i.e. 600 ipm) and see if it helps.
Verify would not catch those types of crashes, since they are machine specific, rather than being bad G-code
-
Thanks Jay..maybe you can show it to the boys at CNC..

Hi Jay
Nope, haven't seen it yet. What's the difference between it and predator virtual?
-
Jay, that isn't backplot, it is G-code solid verification.
-
You will get much crappier results with reverse posting than with cimco edit. In terms of g-code backplot, I don't think they get better than cimco.

Andrew who??

Did you try screen/ combine views?

The question was: Is there a way to make geometry parametric in Mastercam? The answer is no.
-
hmmmm...someone needs to cut back on the coffee!
-
part of the problem may also be that Haas only offers an 80 block look-ahead, which might slow you down on small moves
-
I have also had this happen, and cannot explain it. Usually it happens when I have 2 different 2D contour operations cutting the same profile with different tools. Even though the same geometry is being used and there is no stock to leave, I get an occasional "step" in verify on what should be a vertical wall. The g-code is fine.
Toolpath Editor

Thad, it was cumbersome in V9. I think Smartcam had the best toolpath editor out there. As far as I know, it is being reworked for the next maintenance release.
