Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I have a question that I thought this community might be able to help with. I work as a CNC programmer and use Mastercam for my projects. After I've completed my programming, I usually fill out an Excel file with tool part numbers, references, revisions, dates, and part images. Recently, I came across the concept of setup sheets in Mastercam, and I realized that they can do something similar to my Excel file. I'm wondering if there's a way to customize my setup sheet by integrating my Excel data directly into it. This would save me a lot of time and effort. Has anyone tried doing something similar, or does anyone have any insights into how I might go about it? Any tips, guidance, or resources would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to automate the tool creation process by making a simple program to copy and paste lines of text repeatedly between two programs. We have all of the necessary lines of data to create these tools in an ERP-type system (Plex), but these lines of data are easily transferable to an excel sheet if that would make this automation process easier. We simply need to put these lines of data into Mastercam, but we have hundreds to do and the only real work in creating these tools is to copy and paste 6 or so lines of text from Plex/Excel.... a few hundred times. Has anyone ever made a crawler, macro, program, etc. to make this process less time consuming and monotonous!? I'm sure there must be a way, but I am unknowledgeable on this repeatable computer task automation topic. I have found a few softwares that have free trials and paid versions, but I am hoping to not have to go this route. Thanks!
