  1. B Hello Mastercam Experts, We have a bizarre situation and I’m looking for any clues as to what is causing a problem. Background: We are using Mastercam 2022 with Server Implementation, ie our Server issues our licenses from our pool of licenses when individual users log in on multiple PC’s. We have 4 different PC’s that people can use for running Mastercam but all on the same network. Problem Statement: A very experienced Machinist / Mastercam user is having a very annoying problem that may be tied to how Mastercam deals with people sharing licenses/stored tool path settings: We should use the following Terminology to keep things simple: User 1 – User 3 (Our normal users) PC Names: Potato, Pickle, and Mustard (PC 1 – PC 3) Scenario: User 1 is busy working on a project and is in a user directory called C:/foobar/Project1/File1 and he is using PC Potato User 1 spends all day setting toolpath defaults that effect the file C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/Shared Mastercam 2022/Mill/Ops/ Mill-Inch-Mcam-defaults (Defaults File) Mill-Inch-Mcam-Operations (Operations File) User 1 stays logged in (PC Potato) and begins programming a complex part using all the tool path defaults he set up previously – Lets Call this File “Project1.MCAM” User 1 Logs out of PC1 Potato, Goes Home for the night, and comes in in the morning and goes to finish all the hard work he started last night on Project1.MCAM. He opens Project 1.MCAM (PC Potato) and notices all of the settings he set up last night as tool path defaults have reverted back to original. In fact, all his settings he diligently set up in defaults are now back to their original default state (out of the box condition). Assumptions: 1) PC Reboots every Sunday 2) User 1 Logs out of PC Potato every night 3) Other Users use the same PC “Potato” but they do not use Mastercam during this timeframe. Questions: Can anyone think of a reason why this could be happening. My suspicion is as follows: PC1 (Potato) is using all of User 1 defaults and when User 2 logs into PC2 (different PC = Pickle) that somehow the settings from PC2-Pickle (untouched defaults may be overwriting the PC1 Potato Mastercam Tool Defaults) as these are shared Mastercam files. Can it be something my IT does as part of the boot up process each day? When you are in a server installed system, Is there a better way to have multiple users have their own Mastercam Tool Path and Operation Defaults and not overwrite or impact each other when they log into the same PC? Is there a way to have Mastercam pull in tool path and operation defaults based on what user is using Mastercam for example if User 1 uses the PC (Potato) it will use his favorite tool path and operations defaults and all other users get the default settings out of the box but neither overwrites on top of each other’s tool path settings? We are totally stumped on this one. How do your organizations deal with this multiuser challenge? asic Mastercam User (Mill, Lathe)
