how do i make it default to the changes i made,it keeps the old colors and font when i open a new project

Did you find it or no? It is in the configuration. 

there is a ton that you can control in there but here are some bullet pointers on which pages you may want to first visit to find settings

Cad page = set default line width, line style attributes

Colors page = a vast majority of colors that mastercam uses can be adjusted here, Wireframe Geometry is the one to adjust for your default wireframe color

Files page = where you can alter file paths, i typically only change the Backup Files directory, then on the page below Files (click the+ next to files) you can then turn on the backup options, this is a useful feature that makes backups of your files into a separate location upon each save. I highly suggest it, its nice having backups of your work throughout the day. 

Start/exit page = Typically i ust change my editor here because i like Cimco/Cimco edit

Toolpaths page = typically i just crank the memory buffering to 85% and then Uncheck Lock Feed rates since i dont like the feedrate lock turned on.
