4th axis

I put a file in the FTP site in the MC8 folder

called "blades.mc8".

When I run this in verify, the part looks terrible. It looks like the tool cuts through the part in several places, but when I post process it and run it on the machine it looks different. It still cuts through the fins in a couple places but not in the same places it shows when I verify it.

Can you guys take a look at it and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

Are you using vericut? If you are using the MasterCam verify I wouldnt trust what I see in verify in 4 or 5 axis programs. If you do not have vericut, I would recommend watching real close in backplot step mode at different angles to check for collisions.

Be ready for sticker shock. I have very little problem with verify in multi axis. You just have to remember in 5 axis that the part is swinging all over the place not the tool so a machine simulator is nice. If you have a good post what you see in 4th axis should be what you get.

I sent my file to my dealer and he couldn't see

anything wrong with it. He sent me back a .bmp file of what was on his screen when he verified it on his computer. It was perfect.

I posted both examples on the FTP site in the "All Pictures" folder as "rotary.bmp" and "rotaryb.bmp".
