Coolant Type Change on Null Tool Change


Recommended Posts

I use air blast on a drill/mill for chamfers and flood coolant for engraving. When moving from chamfers to engraving without forcing a tool change, I can get the flood coolant to turn on appropriately but I can't get the air blast to turn off before flood turns on. If I select air off/before and flood on/with, the coolant codes repeat after null tool change event. 

Both Generic 3 Axis.pst and MpMaster.pst give me the similar results.

Has anyone written logic for the pcant_out postblock to handle this?

Z2G is the best way for someone to assist. Helps prove your a legal user and allows someone to poke around in the post to see what things might have been done that help or hurt the process.

I recommend going to the tech exchange on the Mastercam Website and getting the latest post from there. The one you have has not been updated for over 6 years. I suggest you get a hold of your dealer and get In-House to get you the IKE version of their Post for MPMASTER. You are asking for redundant coolant output. Not sure where why or how you think you need that on CNC Machine that have been around for at least 30 years calling the coolant one for a tool going between features on a part if good enough.

Need to change the output in the null toolchange section of the post to always output the coolant verses the current method which is to only do it as needed for each operation. Since this is the first time in my 20 years of being on this forum seeing such a request I am not sure how to help. Maybe someone else can assist with adding the on and off for each operation using the null tool change process. I was going to point you to use CANTEXT to control this, but that doesn't work. I could use a mi or mr trigger in the post to change Force toolchange when using the same tool to mimic things to change some outputs, but again not following the logic behind this request since I Air on with the first operation and then coolant with the 2nd operation. If you want to force off the air between operations without a force toolchange then use a Manual Entry or a Point toolpath between them.
