I read a previous topic about this subject but it didn't quite answer my question. How do I get MC to output a M04 and use a left handed tool? When ever I try to change spindle direction to CW it automatically changes my tool to right handed. Is this a post issue? Using post MPLHT42R.

oppiz,

At my shop,we do everything assbackwards.

So I use a lot of left hand lathe tools and M04.

As was stated, you need to make the spindle direction change in the set up params. of the tool, and yes you probably will have to change the holder also.

I have set up my own library just for these leftie tools.

Once in a while I will have an operator come to me and say that the insert "blew up" upon contact!

Oops....That M03 got me again!!! biggrin.gif

I read a lengthy discussion early about this. My hardinge was set-up to run this way (m04). This is how they trained me at the factory. All my tooling is left handed. I'm still have a problem with MC changing automatically to a right handed tool. What a pain. curse.gif
