Mill-Turn XY Limits

Recommended Posts

Machine - Okuma LB3000 MYW   Y-axis +2.76” / -1.77”

We have a part that can be machined complete using XC moves, but XY moves would be more rigid and precise.

Mastercam does not output X+Y+C moves as far as I know.

Aside from breaking up the toolpath into multiple sections, is there a way to limit how far Y tries to go plus and minus?

Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you

Break it up on these machine is standard practice. X Y and C should be possible with the correct post and toolpath. 3 Axis toolpath probably not would need to use a 5 Axis toolpath set to a 4 Axis output and that should give you what you need, but will need to have a 5 Axis License to do it.
