Anything out there?

Does anyone know of a c-hook that will wrap a chain of geometry around another chain. For instance if I have some repeating pattern and I want that pattern mapped onto a spline. Picture a rack gear with a non linear (and non-circular) rack, and a complex tooth shape. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry to be so late in replying - I think Rhino3D will do what you want. I created a wavy surface then drew a curve on the surface. Now I made a circle out in space. There is a command to array an object along a curve on a surface - so I copied this circle a number of times along the curve.

If you will send me your e-mail address I can show you a picture of what it looks like.

Also, you can download a fully working evaluation copy from www.rhino3d.com

Or post your geometry and I will try to accomplish what you need and repost it.

I think rhinos evaluation is only 30 days Check this program outs its really good. Price is 1000.00 & has tools for surfacing that make alot of other programs look really bad. Warning !!!! Rhino is very poor when it comes to surface fillets.Pain in the neck I'd say. You'll love the interface too.

Injoy
