I need to do nice looking part in stainless(sheet) But I don't know wich grade(303 304 316) to use.

-I want it resisting to rust(very important)

-easy to work with..

You don't want much.

 

303 or 304 probably a good bet.

Is the part for functionality or for looks? 316 will be the best for resisting rust but is more of a pain in the a$$ to machine. With proper speeds and feed it is not too bad though. At least it's not Kovar.

303 is not typically available as sheet stock. If you're looking for commonly available sheet stock 304 is the way to go.

In 22 gauge I think 304 would definitely be your best bet. If it has to be welded I'd go with a regular [2B] finish and buff or electropolish it afterward. If no welding is required you could get some brush finish material that is vinyl coated on both sides; just be careful when working with it and it'll look sweet when you're done

303 cuts like a butter (almost ).

Easy to polish with a scotch brite.

304 is more difficult and 316 which was mentioned is even tougher.

See if you can get it in 22 gauge sheets first and go from there.

no need to be welded

it's panel folded with holes for esthetic..(for crazy guys that are willing to put lot of $$$ on their car)
