Jew can speak Iddish ,for example or Ladino ,they are Jewish languages ,while Hebrew is the language of Jews of Israel ,the language of Torah is acient Hebrew ,modern Hebrew is different ,but you can understand the old one too .

The Jews in exile used Hebrew not only in prayers ,but in commersial correspondence

with Jews in different countries .

A Jew speaking Iddish and a Jew speaking Ladino were speaking too different languages ,one based on German and second on Spanish but they both knew Hebrew (every Jew was liturate and knew

how to write and read Hebrew and was using this

language praying ,Learning Torah and Talmud all his life )

Hebrew is related to Israel .

Ivri(Hebrew ) in Hebrew means who crossed (the Jordan river )

Jew (Yehudi ) means Jew (from Jehuda ) and related to any Jew
