lathe insert tip comp Question

Hey everyone, I don't have much time at all on Mcam lathe, When I generate my rough tolpath to cut a x1.5 step z-.600 back w/ a .312 radus on 2.0" 360 brass hex stock , The rough toolpath in backplot and verify both keep overcutting on each pass on the radius with a specified insert tip of .031.The finish pass seems to be cutting fine (am using same tool). If I change the tip R. to 0 it seems to cut fine, what am I missing ?,Overlap settings? Tool Comp Type? Ive tried everything I can think of.

Thanks for the help, this is an awesome site!!!

I fooled around with your file a little but stock flip files are a royal PITA to edit because the stock flip op F--Ks everything up when you start manipulating. If I get 1/2 hour tonight I'll create a new file for your part and send it to you to show you what I think a 'normal' lathe file should look like. I tried to call you at around noon but the woman who answered the phone said you "weren't in the facility". Some of your tool definitions are a little odd so I'd like to talk to you before I do what I need to do; gimme a call if you can.
