Am running v7. When backplotting files from v6 I get "Incompatible version numbers. Run MC7 file converter." The backplot works and it shows the tool but I get this message at the beginning of every tool operation. What is the MC7 file converter? I'm aware of the File/Converters/NextMenu/Pre7Tools but don't know if that applies in this case. I just want to get rid of the error message. Thanks.

There is no such thing as a "V7 file converter". The message you are getting is a generic prompt to tell you that Mastercam doesn't completely know what kind of file you want it to open. As far as running v6 .nci files in v7...I don't recall any problems in that respect, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.
