Helix entry on surface ruff pocket

I'm having a problem getting a helix entry on a rough pocket, constant overlap surface program in V8. I keep getting just a regular plunge and no ramp or helix. Now, I know I'm missing something, but I've tried several things and am not seeing it. Any suggestions?

I'VE HAD THAT PROBLEM BEFORE. WHAT FIXED IT FOR ME WAS REDUCING THE XY CLEARANCE IN THE HELIX PARAMETERS. IF IT IS TO LARGE THE HELIX WON'T FIT. HOPE THIS HELPS.

That is usually the problem xy clearance, but another co-worker had the same problem and I took his file and his parameters and it worked for me. I found out he was still runnning V8.0 and I was running 8.1.1

Make sure you have all of the latest patches.

When I have trouble with a helical entry I will make the tool follow the boundary of the pocket in a ramping motion. Set your max and min radius to some high number like 100. and turn on follow boundary. Set the min boundary length to 0. The cutter should ramp along the boundary of the pocket. You need to uncheck the on failure only box.
