moriseiki mv-65 control question

Is anyone out there familiar with the proper use of the mirror function in the moriseiki vmc mv65 control?

In setting(handy) page there is a switch mirror image X (0: off 1: on)

Y (0: off 1: on)

Z (0: off 1: on)

Ive tried just switching it in the y but my g54 overtravels in the y direction.. do you have to change the g54 value to a positive to use this function? And do you have to add a special g code to the program as well.. thanks

Paul,

Remember that when you mirror, all the Y values are now negative. If you maintain the same work coordinate (for example the back edge closest to the machine column), then you would overtravel before you get out of bed in the morning. You need to change the G54 to the front edge now and then you should be good to go. For the benefit of Multax- this post is from emperical evidence, just ask my maintainence guy when he had to override the limit switches...

Andrew out.
