Solids & Surfaces

I created a solid using sweep. I took the same geometery and created a swept surface then offset for the thickness. They don't match on either the face or the back. My question is you have the option under swept surfaces to translate or rotate. I need to translate, and I think the solid sweep rotates. Am I correct and if so would I need to create a sheet solid then thicken it? And how would you do this? Thanks.

Travis,

Instead of trying to thicken a sheet solid, wouldn't it be easier to Shell the whole solid for the wall thickness you're interested in? A solid Shell can either remove the material from a whole solid, leaving a thin walled part, where there was a solid "brick" before. Or you could shell leaving one solid Face open and the rest of the solid part as a thin wall shape. Look through the Mcam Help about Solid Shell to get more info. HTH cheers.gif
