customising tool layout

Recommended Posts

Sorry, what I am trying to get at is: for example on the top of my screen I have the Icons starting with ?, file, Anylise, Screen Zoom, Screen Unzoom, Unzoom 0.8 etc across the screen and disapearing to the right ( use arrows to select).

Down the Left hand column are the words Anylise, Create, File, Modify, Xform etc etc, what I want to know is can I take some of the Icons from the top and place them on the left hand side and likewise can I place the side written "icons" to the top.

What I am asking is can I move the icons around the screen (customise their positions) to suit my style of working.( I prefer to press an icon than a word I find it faster).

Hope that is a little clearer.

Yes you can change the layout of the top buttonskeys. Go to screen>configure>toolbar/keys. Once you get there just take you time and look and understand what you need to do. You should have a book handy to read about it and make sure you back up your configuration FIRST before you make any changes, it just might save your butt.

Vamvany, you are not able to change the layout of the functions down the left hand side menu I'm afraid. However, you can add functions into empty spaces in the menu (for example, there are empty spaces under "File" - "Next Menu"). But this is not straightfoward for a new user (it requires editing a text file - a very important text file!)

If you really want to go that route, find some blank spaces, decide which functions you want in them, and someone here (or your reseller) should be able to help you out.

p.s. Welcome to the forum, both to you and Tfesta cheers.gif
