  1. Ok. I can set it like you have listed. Thanks for your help. Have a great weekend.
  2. I'll have to get the program from work, I work swing and I'm home right now. This job doesn't have internet on the computer that I use or I would have been done and solved weeks ago. It won't be much of a post. Each time I index it changes the work offset. I'll try and change the default setting and see if that will fix it. But it looks like I have to set it at every plane change.
  3. I have MC X6. I did what you said and it made the indexes G54 But then made the Front G55. I use to program all the time with the rotary table (MC X5) but it was not a work offset machine so no problem. Where in the post do I turn it off at? I was thinking of just changing the G54, G55, ect to all G54's. Not the best way but it's a fool proof way. The MC X6 post is a little bit different then MC X5 and I can't find the switch.
  4. Colin , How do I turn off the work offset changing part? I want to keep the same work offset, I don't need it changing every index. Thanks.....Tim
  5. Oh my gosh. K2csq7. It sure does work and I didn't even use the finish groove. I just went over to the finish groove tab and then back. Wow, thanks. When I go back to CT to see my brother and sister-in-law. I'll buy you a drink. Thanks a lot.
  6. Ok, Thanks. I usually don't use that option. But on the VTL's they would rather feed faster then rapid, with the little lathes it's not a problem.
  7. Hello Everybody, I'm grooving a part and want to turn the rapid moves into feed rate moves. I have checked the feed rate box in the rough groove tab at the top right on MCX5. I want to change the feed rate from the default .010 to .025. But no matter what I do. I can't get it to go higher then the .010 feed rate. Does anybody know? Thanks
  8. I use spade drills all the time. But I won't use the 17/32 on steel. It's too thin and can't take the pressure. Use solid carbide, no peck or a good cobalt one 40-50 SFPM.
  9. Thanks for the help. I'll get to test it tomorrow.
  10. Does anybody know what the dwell address is for a GE 1050 control. I know it's G04 but I don't know the letter address. It's not P cause there is no letter P on the control. Either that or it came off.
  11. At 3 in deep and at 60 Rc. I would have it EDM. It's way to deep to do anything else.
  12. Ken, I did get it to thread. On this Okuma the feed it called out just like any other feedrate. Some do go by TPI. Thanks for your help.
  13. Yes Jerry, I had to do that one other time too. If we get the job we'll have to alter the tool holder.
  14. From what I got. The length of the cut is 50.737 for 1 revolution. So the z-distance will come out to 13.1316 and that will be my feed. At that rate I can only go 15 RPM max to keep my feed rate under the 200IPM max feed rate for the machine.
  15. I need to groove this part. It's 16 equal grooves along the OD like 16 thread starts. It will run at 15 deg. and the OD is 16.150. How do I calculate the feed? I'll be using a threading cycle and telling it that it has 16 starts.
  16. I program "horizontally" as well. It just looks natural with the tool on the backside. But to have the tool to the left side would look just strange to me. So I keep it simple.
  17. Thank you savagkd. After a while looking at it and copying and pasting I got it to work right.
  18. Can anybody else help with this? Thanks to everybody at this site. I do enjoy reading your posts and answers.
  19. Qmp, I hear ya on that one. On most machines it would be like that. But this is a very old control. The only way to do backwards rotation is by use a (-) minus sign with b-axis. I have changed all the settings back and forth and I can't get it to match. The real problem is that I believe that the rotary table is wired up wrong. I believe that it should rotate CW. If it did this post would not be here. I asked them to check it, but you know how it goes if you have to shut down a machine when it still is running. They just tell me to edit it in. I was just hoping for an easy fix. I'm still hopeful. The table is all ways Absolute all the time, a minus sign reverses the direction.
  20. I'm not a post writter. I can edit it and change things that I need but that's about it. It's the new MPMASTER 9.1 ver post. But I did get the AGGREDAT.DLL to wotk right now. That will be a help when it comes time. I have been trying to post my logic but it says I can't post it cause. "Sorry, we do not permit the following HTML tag or attribute: Parenthesis in HTML tag" I can't get into the FTP site to upload.
  21. It's not a Haas and I'm using MasterCam 9.1. It's a Wotan with an Allen-Bradley 7320 control. I was using an updated MasterCam 8.0 post. It was the same way too. We don't do a lot of indexing but I would like to get it fixed.
  22. Cobra, I just checked and I don't have that in my post. Thanks anyhow.
  23. I have some free time right now so I started making a new post for our Horz mill using Ver 9.1 MPMASTER. Everything looks good but I can't get it to output a minus sign on B axis when it changes directions. I've looked for 2 days searching on here (yeah plenty of free time) and can't find anything. My table rotates CCW positive. So if I have a hole on the left side it goes B25 and if I have a hole on the right side it goes B335. I want it to say B-335. Can anybody help me. I think it's something to do with the shortest direction but I don't know what it should look like. Thanks for your help.
  24. I used Gibbs on a Mac in 1988. When Mac was going belly up (so they though) Gibbs stopped making it for the Mac and went Windows only. Mac does offer some extras that Windows can't do. It was a simple system that was great for 2D works. Much faster to program then MasterCam, less mouse clicks too was the big seller. Just glad that Jobs stepped up to save the company.
  25. Yeah Roger that works. I just have to edit it 24 places. I never though of toolpath editor cause I have only used it twice. Thanks for your answers.
