Mastercam-Powermill

Hello,

Does anybody have experience with Powermill of Delcam?

It is better as Mastercam(faster calculation time, qualitatively better shaping-ways ...)?

For information I would be pleased.

Are you asking if powermill is better or you are stating that it is?

in either case these are Mastercam users so i would say that they would go with mastercam or they would of bought the other.

one word brother..Delscam!!!!!!!,dealt with

them some and i can tell ya this,they couldnt

give 2 $hits about the dealers or customers,

all they wanna do is turn a buck as fast as

possible

Delcam support sucks! Worse than Cimmatron. Delcam a good cadcam product but its not as widely used as Mastercam.

I had experience with reselling and doing technical support for both mastercam and delcam products. I can tell you that PowerMILL has its advantages over mastercam but only on some. but in a general aspect of NC programming, Mastercam is far easier to use and gets the job done as well.

Hi Silas,

Powermill not good for cut level 1 Mastercam toolpaths or 4 (and 5) axis.

Powermill not cut surfaces. Only cut triangles.

Powermill create triangles form surfaces (one more tolerance in processes and big files).

Change geometry recreates triangles… (more time).

Not unique tool CAD/CAM. CAM (powermill) CAD (powershape).

Required big computer.

Fast for multiples toolpaths in same surfaces (triangles).
