Why solids ??

Solid models are much better in the long run for RD work. Make the first one. Test it. Lets say the fillets are all wrong. Go into the solid manager and change it to new size and re-gen. All good to go.

 

When We pick up complex work for outside sorces for lots of 3D work. We see if the customer has a solid or a catia file that we can get from them to do the machiing. Saves many hours, as long as there file transfers friendly. IE Not like Catia likes to play nice with other programs. But will except many of there files to translate.
