HP laptop

I'm looking at getting a HP ZD8000 laptop, does anybody have one of these using version X. I was wondering on graphics with the ATI that come in them. What other laptops have people had error free performance w/ using X. I kinda wanted the pentium M chip, not the HT- due to heat reasons.

I have the zd7000 it does have the HT though. I am VERY pleased with it's performance. It has the NVidia Video though. Would not touch ATI with a 10 foot pole.

Hi

I have a XD8000 with ATI. I would have gone Nvidia but HP dropped it. The ATI works BUT do not use the drivers that come with it.

Use drivers dates 26th Oct 2004 6.14.10.6490

Available on HP Website (I think this is their oldeset driver actually). The only problems I get here are occasional solid selection problems that I also get on Nvidia. Everything else is fine with X at full speed but with 9 I still have to choke the acceleration.
