I am modifying my post to allow for toggling on and off of the high speed look ahead funtion in the controller. I have found that I can get the results I want by using misc. integers or canned text functions. Is there any reason to use one instead of the other or is it just a matter of personal preference?

Thanks for any input,

romer

If you use Misc. Int. you can do booleans on them. If you use Cantext, it's not as easy. FOr example, you may want to always use the High Speed Functions except for the occasions where the Control Mfr. says the functions should not be used. FOr example, drilling/canned cycles use opcode 3, you can say in each tool change, "if opcode = 3, mi10 = 0. This would in effect cancel anything tied to Misc Int. 10. I don't believe you can to the same booleans on cantext.

James,

I didn't think leaving it on all the time would be the best thing at this point since we are still playing with the accell-decell parameters and there may be other cycles where it would be better to have it turned off, but you bring up a good point about the booleans.

I think the integers is the way to go.

Thanks for your input.
