  1. Any chance someone could post the what's new file for X3 to the ftp site so those that are bandwidth challenged can view it without having to download the whole web X3? Thanks, romer
  2. John, I HAVE said what I am trying to do! I just want the manual entries from "change at point" to show up where they are supposed to be according to the post logic. They show up correctly in at least 2 other post processors. I would like them to work in MPmaster. Ron, you are confirming what I have been grappling with. You are exactly correct about the definitions regarding eob in 1007 and 1026. I can stop the actual text I manually enter from being output but it still posts an empty line above where it should be. Once again, it works in other posts, so I'm confident it is something that can be made to work. I'm sure I am just overlooking something. Ron, In this thread www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=029222 I think you touched on something that I think relates to my confusion in regards to what I am trying to solve. X processes things differently than V9 and it could be a mp.dll that adds to the problem. I will try your suggestions on the mods. Thanks for all the replies so far Romer
  3. John, Somehow I still think you misunderstand. The functions works properly 2 out of 3("before" and "with") in Generic fanuc and Mpfan but only "before" in Mpmaster. I'm not trying to get code onto a line, per se. I just want the manual entries from "change at point" to show up where they are supposed to be according to the post logic. It works in some posts so there must be something I am missing in Mpmaster. Also, as best I can tell there is no nci Gcode definition that would allow the "after" selection to work in ver X. In ver 9 1005-1007 defined "before", "with" and "after". X has changed that. Romer
  4. Although it isn't exactly the same problem, I posted this yesterday. http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=029656 I am trying to figure another issue out but am running into the same confusing output that doesn't seem to correspond to the post logic. In ver 9 the nci 1005-1008 info was very straightforward and was easy to place. X2 changed that and although it is explained in the post reference guide, I am still struggling with it. I'll let you know if I make any headway because I think it might be a similar solution. Romer
  5. John, Would you agree the funtion is not working in Mpmaster since it output on the line above no matter what the selection is? If you look in Mpmaster in the Tool Comment/Manual Entry section, pcomment2 is where the definitions are that I am referring to. Thanks, Romer
  6. John, If it comes out above, then it is NOT working correctly. It should be ON the line as the "with" option should work. As far as canned text goes, I think you might misunderstand me. (Not your fault, I'm barely able to form thoughts, much less words most of the time, and putting them to paper or keyboard is an even greater leap!) I'm not trying to use the canned text option. In fact, right below the manual entry window is the selection box for canned text and I'm NOT using that. Does that help? Thanks, Romer
  7. John, If you are using Mpmaster try this. Create a simple 2d drill toolpath. Now open the chain manager for the drill points you selected, pick a point (chain), right click and choose "change at point". Enter a comment in the manual entry box, choose "with" and repost it. Does the comment come out on the line corresponding to that point, or only on the line before it? Thanks, Romer
  8. John, I thought it might be related to the coolant commands, but after some experimenting, it didn't make any difference. I'm just surprised that the Mpmaster doesn't seem to work correctly with a standard function in MCX2. Just out of curiosity, what are you using for a post? Romer
  9. John, I'm referring to drill points and the editing of them in the chain manager. Romer
  10. I am having a problem with the manual entry of the change at point feature. No matter which selection I make, (before, with, after) the entry is always posted in the line before the point. I am using a modified Mpmaster post. Trying the generic 3 or 4 axis fanuc or mpfan results in the correct posting of before or with the line but not after. Other Mpmaster posts worked the same as my modified one. Digging around inside the post I see the definition of the 1007 and 1026 Gcodes is correct and is being output to the nci file, but even using the debugger I can't figure why it doesn't work. I don't think it is a X2 bug, (I'm using X2mr2) because changing the post will get correct results. Anybody else have this problem, or got some suggestion where to tweak the post? I also assume the "after" output won't work unless there is another Gcode defintion added. In version 9 posts, 1005, 1006, and 1007 handled "before", "after", and "with" but version X is somewhat different. Thanks, Romer
  11. I have gotten the same "invalid argument" and lock up when I tried to execute VB script to number my layers while the level manager is open. Romer
  12. Just a suggestion, You might want to update the web site to reflect the date of the latest version. The Dec. 13th date was probably 2 or 3 revisions ago. Thanks for the excellent work. Romer
  13. James, Are you able to read different directories (saved folders, etc.) on your flash card while plugged in to the controller? Thanks, Romer
  14. If you haven't already found this in a search, this may help. http://www.eMastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=024036 Always keep in mind that although different machine builders may use the same Fanuc control, that in NO WAY insures that it will digest the same canned cycles, M-codes, etc. as any other machine with the same control. Always read and refer to the manufacturer's manuals as a place to start. Romer
  15. Randy is the only who has it correct. Advertising costs can be substantial. For that reason, I am more than wiling to help. For the reasonable sum of 1$ one dollar US. (Oh, and a full level 3 seat with solids and all the bells and whistles), I will be happy to promote the Mastercam line of apparel by wearing the appropriate attire for whatever occasion I am engaged in with the Mastercam Logo prominently displayed. This includes but is not limited to, Workwear, Careerwear, Sportswear, Eveningwear, Formalwear, Leisurewear, Activewear, Eyewear, outer garments, undergarments, and if the breadth of attire includes it, Sleepwear and Loungewear. I will of course be responsible for all laundering and repairs but will require that I have a sufficient number of all examples and all color combinations so as to be able to contrast the Mastercamwear with the anticipated event I will be attending. C'mon guys in the marketing department, this is a great deal! It would cost you gazillions to hire a real celebrity or sports star. I anxiously await your reply. Romer P.S. I got lots of napkins and crayons and such to draw up a contract on!
  16. Brett, Perhaps I am missing something, but one thing I noticed in the High speed functions, there is no string select definition for G49. Defining it in the Misc gcode strings section works fine. I liked your hsm function definitions, MUCH more elegant than the way I cobbed it out. Keep up the excellent work, Romer P.S. The date shown for the latest update on the X2 post web page is a bit behind.
  17. quote: Do you really need to physically watch every tool movement? Hey, I need some kind of entertainment at work! Romer
  18. Oops, I obviously misunderstood the function of the propagate button. It seems to work if used properly. Thanks all, Romer
  19. I'm doing just what you describe. It just won't do it regularly. I do need to highlight at least one operation in the parameters window to get the propagate button to function. Sometimes it works if I try a number of times, but most of the time nothing happens. Thanks, romer
  20. I select them in the op manager and they show up in the edit parameters window no problem. Maybe I misunderstand, but I assume you highlight them in the parameters window also. romer
  21. Is this feature working properly? Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but it won't let me select any operations much less multiple operations as the help file explains. I am trying to change the Planes to another offset but I can't seem to get it to work on any kind of a consistent basis. Am I missing something? Thanks, Romer
  22. Greg, If you are changing hard drives, why not just image your 40G hard drive to your external drive, then load it back on your new HD. Eliminates having to load Windows, programs, drivers etc. all over again, and everything that is on your existing drive will be there, just lots more space I use Acronis, but there are other utilities. I've found this the simplest way of changing HD's or even just backing up things. Just a suggestion, Romer
  23. David, I did a search before I posted and ran across your thread along with a number of others. Obviously I am not alone in my desire for a change, and I'm sure the powers that be know it also. I was just hoping someone had come up with something in the mean time. (does anybody actually use the "delete all ops and groups" icon?) Thanks for the reply, romer
  24. Has anybody figured out a way to tweak the icons in the ops manager in MCX, to move them around, space them differently, etc. using a resource hacker or something similar? V9 was pretty easy to tweak the resource file, but I am having no luck in VX. Thanks, romer
  25. We finally got X2 up and running. Updated the X1 post with the update c-hook as recommended. Everything seems to be posting fine. Thanks for the replies and help, romer
