Locking tool numbers

I am thinking about setting up a standard carousel of tools the repeat with regularity thru our shop. Then we only need to add for set up the different tools that are required for the operation.

 

Is there a way for me to lock the set tool numbers so that they remain unchanged.

 

Or is this something that I am going to have to always be aware of that I do not change by accident?

Create a tool library of the tool in your carousel, set Feed calculation - > From Tool ( in X). Tool will always be correct if retrieve from the library.

Also make sure to uncheck "Assign Tool #'s Sequentially" in the Tool Settings page from the Machine Group Properties. Then you wont have to edit tool #'s in your NC file.
