Z rapid logic in post

I would like to add logic in the post for rapid moves as follows:

 

Output the Z before the X & Y if the Z is higher than the last output Z

 

Output the Z after the X & Y if the Z is lower than the last output Z.

 

My question is how do I get the previously output Z value. (Current machine Z)

You could try prv_zabs or prv_z$.

 

I'm not too sure if there is any difference other than z$ being a "system" variable.

Not for sure but there are settings for that in the control def. mgr. and I think they overide whatever you set in the post, that is if you're using X.

FYI - My X control def Linear-Router XY plane control was/is set to Break rapid moves - XY then Z for approach, Z then XY for retract. Didn't seem to deliver the motion we were after.
