pallet changer

I've finally got the opportunity to verify the X update as far as the post goes(for the pallet changer). It didn't go badly but it didn't roll the fixture offsets properly. Ya know, G54-G57. So.... I was wondering if anyone had a short example I could work with while I wait on reseller to answer e-mail.

Thanks.

code:

     if workofs$<3&mach=5,["M71","(LOAD PALLET 1)",e$

pal=1]

else,[if workofs$>2&mach=5,["M70","(LOAD PALLET 2)",e$

pal=2]]

n$,"G00G90G40",*sgwcs,*xr$,*yr$,e$

n$,"G43",tlngno$,*zr$,e$

n$,pcoolon,e$

n$,*ss$,*spdlon,prange,e$

I think I've narrowed it down to here. Anyone??

code:

# Work coordinate output, user defined

# --------------------------------------------------------------------------

pwcs # work offset output

if mach=4,sgwcso

else,sgwcs

if smi2=0,[wkcs=wkcs+1,

wkcso=wkcso+1]

pwcsf # force work offset output

if mach=4,*sgwcso

else,*sgwcs

if smi2=0,[wkcs=wkcs+1,

wkcso=wkcso+1]

Thanks Wench,

I've been playing e-mail tag with Jeff at MLC. I sure he'll figure it out since it's his post. He told me at the roll out that he'll be watching closely to see how this post updates. This is just the first opportunity I've had since X to use the pallet changer and it totally hosed the fixture offsets. But if you REALLY look at the post and see just how complicated it is, it can be very intimidating. I'm sure this is one of those 'forest for the trees' situations, since there are many 'trees'. smile.gif

I thinks that I'll have to add something here....

code:

  # Work coordinate output, user defined

# --------------------------------------------------------------------------

pwcs # work offset output

if mach=4,sgwcso

else,sgwcs

if smi2=0,[wkcs=wkcs+1,

wkcso=wkcso+1]

pwcsf # force work offset output

if mach=4,*sgwcso

else,*sgwcs

if smi2=0,[wkcs=wkcs+1,

wkcso=wkcso+1]

But maybe it's here....?

code:

 psofl # Leadwell start of file

if mach=0,n$,"G00 G40 G49 G80 G90",e$

if mach=1,[n$,"G00 G40 G80 G90",e$

[n$,*t$,"M06",e$]]

else,[if mach=5|mach=3,[*t$,"(",*strtool$,")",e$

"M06",e$

if next_tool$<>t$,*next_tool$,e$]

else,[n$,*t$,"M06","(",*strtool$,")",e$]]

# if smi2=0,[rc5=1

# str5=rbuf(5,rc5)

# "(",*str5,")",e]

if workofs$<3&mach=5,["M71","(LOAD PALLET 1)",e$

pal=1]

else,[if workofs$>2&mach=5,["M70","(LOAD PALLET 2)",e$

pal=2]]

n$,"G00G90G40",*sgwcs,*xr$,*yr$,e$

n$,"G43",tlngno$,*zr$,e$

n$,pcoolon,e$

n$,*ss$,*spdlon,prange,e$

or here....?

code:

         n$,"M05",e$

n$,pcooloff,e$

n$,"G91 G28 Z0 ",e$

if mi5$=1,pmoveout

if mi4$=1,pstptc

else,*n$,"M01",e$

if mach=1,[n$,*t$,"M06",e$]

else,[if mach=5|mach=3,[*t$,"(",*strtool$,")",e$

"M06",e$

if next_tool$<>t$,*next_tool$,e$]

else,[n$,*t$,"M06","(",*strtool$,")",e$]]

# str5=rbuf(5,rc5)

# "(",*str5,")",e

if workofs$>2&prv_workofs$<3&mach=5,["M70","(LOAD PALLET 2)",e$

pal=1]

if wkcs>smi1,wkcs=smi1

if wkcs<1,wkcs=1

n$,"G00G90G40",*sgwcs,*xr$,*yr$,e$

n$,"G43",tlngno$,*zr$,e$

ss$=svss

!ss$

n$,pcoolon,e$

n$,*ss$,*spdlon,prange,e$

I've said it before... this post is a monster.

But slowly, we've tamed it.

Have you changed the Offset in the Operation?

-1 lets it update as necessary (usually in Indexes)

0=G54

1=G55

2=G56

3=G57

4=G58

5=G59

6=G54.1P1

7=G54.1P2....

not sure what you mean James, are you talking about assigned WCS? then yes. If you're talking about misc. integers then I would say 'maybe' no. on the first op I 'lock' the offset and 'locked' the subout . I'll try the -1 and see how it works real quick.

Thanks. smile.gif

I'd love a peek but I'm doing some heavy postwork myself right now and not sure when I'de be able to get to it.

So you're driving G5x from the WCS and not from the Operations?

I'm guessing the locking is giving you the problems.

That's what I thought too and have heard so far. However I'm hoping to put something like the "if pflg=1 then wkcs=smi1" or something along those lines where it's locking them. That way, hopefully it will "unlock" for the pallet.

Check your mail, if you get to it great. I'd love to hear your solution. I know you know your stuff.

So why do you need to lock the Coordinate System? As long as you don't change planes, you SHOULD be using the same workofs unless you've got all kinds of crazy stuff going on.

Let me ask you this, what exactly are you trying to accomplish with the post?

James,

this post is crazy stuff!! I inherited it from the last programer that has it rotating for kurt vises posting for pallets (I wish) and spitting code for 5 different machines. Did you open it up and look at it?? It's a beast. I know it's locking the fixture offsets but for the life of me I can't figure out how to unlock them to post to the damn pallets. I got them to unlock (see line 714 approx.) to post subs ok, but the rest is a mystery.

yeah you're probably right, since I have no idea how to write a conditional lock to look for the pallets.

it's not stopping me from trying though. I'm backed up on our net-work editing locally so I'm trying all kinds of crazy stuff.

there's got to be a way.... banghead.gifbanghead.gif
